Job Description:

The Commercial Title Insurance Underwriting Assistant is responsible for coordinating commercial multi-site and multi-state refinance and sale transactions under the direct supervision of a Senior VP and Underwriting Counsel; for answering inquiries from customers and staff on pending transactions; and for maximum levels of customer satisfaction in the providing of title and closing services.

*This is an onsite position and requires in-office attendance 5 days per week in the Chicago, IL office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist underwriters and office manager with underwriting and closing transactions.

  • Issue proforma policies and final policies under the direction and supervision of the underwriter(s) and the Office Manager.

  • Coordinates with all customers to confirm all required documentation is provided prior to closing.

  • Maintains a close communication with examiner, underwriters making sure all files are ready to close.

  • Liaison between customers and offices preparing title work.

  • Record documents as needed.

  • Assist department with other administrative responsibilities.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Essential functions continued:

  • Ability to work from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday

  • Ability to manage and supervise assistant coordinators and support staff

  • Ability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple site projects and portfolios

  • Be responsible for the management of revenue

  • Must be personable, positive and a professional representative of the Company

  • Regular consistent attendance is required

  • Ability to accept supervision

  • Ability to foster, develop and maintain professional and collaborative working relationships. Must be able to get along and interact with others.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience required:

  • Previous commercial title insurance experience preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook

The estimated pay range stated represents the typical pay range for this position or similarly employed employees or employees performing substantially similar work. Factors which may be used to determine the actual pay rate may include, but are not limited to, education, training or experience; seniority; merit and work performance; quantity or quality of production; regional differences in compensation; differences in local minimum wages, or ability and effort.

Position's Pay Range:

$26.50 - $31.25/hour
