The Impact of a Compensation Analyst at Coupa:
 

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Compensation Analyst to support the design, analysis, and administration of our compensation programs. This role is suited for a fully proficient professional who can independently manage compensation analysis, contribute to key programs, and provide data-driven insights to stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is highly skilled in Excel, comfortable working with large datasets, experienced in salary surveys and benchmarking, and motivated to solve complex problems with minimal guidance.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with Human Resources Business Partners to support the business on compensation-related matters, including offers, promotions, leveling, and pay decisions
  • Provide guidance to HR and business leaders on compensation-related inquiries and scenarios
  • Conduct market benchmarking and job evaluations using multiple salary survey sources
  • Analyze compensation data to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness
  • Support annual compensation processes including merit planning, bonus, and equity grant cycles
  • Audit and validate compensation data to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems
  • Generate reports, dashboards, and presentations to inform leadership decision-making
  • Build and maintain complex compensation models in Excel to support business decisions
  • Own and execute salary survey submissions, data validation, and results analysis

What You Will Bring to Coupa:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or related field
  • 2–5+ years of relevant compensation, HR analytics, or consulting experience
  • Self-starter mentality — able to work independently, take initiative, and navigate ambiguity
  • Proven ability to problem-solve and “figure things out” when answers are not immediately clear
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including: Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, IF/THEN logic
  • Complex, nested formulas and data manipulation
  • Strong ability to work with and analyze large, complex datasets
  • Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Dayforce) preferred
  • Demonstrated experience conducting market benchmarking and job matching
  • Hands-on experience with salary surveys, preferably including Radford
