Summary:

In this role, you will lead competitive intelligence research and analysis to inform Vizient’s enterprise and business unit strategies. You will assess competitors’ strategies, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, translate external intelligence into actionable insights, and support the Vizient Market Outlook and broader strategic decision-making. You will collaborate across functions, leverage technology and emerging tools, and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations that enable leaders to anticipate competitive shifts and make informed strategic choices.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and manage a comprehensive competitive intelligence framework covering enterprise and business unit competitors.
  • Collect, synthesize, and analyze data from industry reports, digital sources, events, analyst briefings, and client feedback to assess the competitive environment.
  • Develop and maintain competitive intelligence deliverables, including reports, dashboards, presentations, memos, and briefings.
  • Leverage technology to track competitor activity and provide recurring, timely updates across the organization.
  • Maintain competitor profiles, timelines, and activity intelligence to ensure a current and reliable knowledge base.
  • Deliver early warning insights on disruptive competitive events and emerging threats or opportunities.
  • Lead competitive simulations and scenario planning exercises to assess potential market impacts.
  • Translate intelligence into strategic options and evidence-based recommendations for executive stakeholders under leadership guidance.
  • Serve as a catalyst for cross-functional alignment and decision-making grounded in external insight.
  • Build and sustain a network of internal subject matter experts and competitive intelligence champions.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred. Master’s in healthcare administration, business or related field preferred.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience in healthcare competitive intelligence or market research.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Understanding of and experience using generative AI tools for strategic research and analysis.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to deliver timely insights in a dynamic environment.

This is an office based role with an expectation of three days per week on site (Irving, TX, Chicago, IL or Centennial, CO)

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $77,400.00 to $135,400.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
