The Role

 

dss+ services fall into three core areas—operational risk management, operational excellence, and sustainability—each bolstered by learning, development and culture change solutions and digital technologies. Teams around the globe work with clients in metals and mining, chemicals, oil and gas, power and utilities, agriculture, food and beverage, industrial and manufacturing, and private equity.

 

You will work with leading industrial companies to improve their footprint, keep their people and communities safe, and deliver value to our clients, transforming their cultures, processes and capabilities for sustainable, long-term results and at all levels – from executives to operators.

 

We are currently hiring broadly at the Consultant level, with a particular focus on metals and mining, manufacturing, and oil and gas. We’re ideally looking for someone who’s worked in both consulting and industry, especially within these sectors, but we’re always eager to connect with talented people whose paths might look a little different.

 

Responsibilities:

  • You will work across industry sectors with a team of experienced consultants and subject matter experts to help our clients improve their operational capabilities.  You’ll be aligned to a primary industry group but engage in work that spans multiple sectors.

  • You will be involved in all aspects of client projects from day 1: you will help structure and prepare projects, join key client interactions, and generate senior management outputs 

  •  Contribute to the delivery of client engagements to develop safety leadership and culture, reduce operational risks, and enhance systems and capabilities for safety and risk management

  •  Deliver assessments, design and deliver training and coaching programs, and develop operational risk management systems

  • Facilitate workshops, deliver coaching, provide technical advice to clients and develop risk and safety systems

  • Manage projects to ensure the effective execution of the project, including project planning, project governance and risk management

  • This position will allow you to apply and expand your analytical and problem-solving skills across a variety of industries, for both domestic and international clients 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • A self-starter, who is able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and must be driven to produce improvement initiatives both internally and with clients 

  • You must have excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills to provide relevant recommendations and maintain high stakeholder satisfaction levels 

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and team working attitude, to be able to work in multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams

  • High level of proficiency with PowerPoint, Visio, Word, Advanced Excel, Access, and ideally visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau

  • Willingness and ability to travel and work on client sites as required

  • You’re willing to develop expertise across all aspects of our clients’ operations 

  • 1-3 years of prior exposure to consulting and/or industrial operations environment

  • A graduate from a top-tier university with a degree in a business-related major or engineering.  A post-graduate qualification will be beneficial
