Position Summary

The Consultant analyzes, designs, develops, and maintains training programs that address our customers' training challenges. This work involves anticipating needs and implementing innovative solutions, and spans the full ADDIE/Systematic Approach to Training, with a heavy emphasis on analysis, design, and development. The Consultant also achieves proficiency in our proprietary software, Qlarity and VISION, using these tools to deliver training programs and services to clients.

Position Duties & Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborating virtually with a team to complete project tasks, ensuring quality of deliverables, and tracking time
  • Working independently while understanding the necessity of communicating and coordinating work efforts with team members
  • Collaborating with client subject matter experts to collect data for job analysis, training needs, performance requirements, operating procedures, technical systems, processes, and other related information
  • Analyzing subject matter experts input and other source data to develop task lists, learning objectives, and instructional content that meet client training and qualification requirements
  • Applying the ADDIE/Systematic Approach to Training methodology to design, develop, and maintain training programs and materials for clients
  • Translating analysis and design work into our flagship software programs, Qlarity and VISION, including proactively identifying and recommending best data set up solutions for clients
  • Communicating professionally and effectively with client subject matter experts and stakeholders to clarify scope, gather requirements, and deliver training solutions on schedule
  • Providing quality assurance and data entry support to the FOCUS Professional Services team
  • Ability to work virtually from a home office or other professional environment free from auditory or visual distractions; location may be anywhere within the continental United States
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Nuclear Technology, Engineering, Instructional Design, Technical Writing, or related fields. A master’s degree is preferred
  • Three to seven years of experience in training analysis, design, and/or development work, including experience with designing training courses and/or programs to meet client needs; experience with technical writing or procedure writing a plus.
  • Understanding of nuclear principles, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements in nuclear environments set by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) desired.
  • Develop training materials including lesson plans, on-the-job training guides, tests, performance assessments, etc. that are consistent with the principles of adult learning theory and instructional design theory.
  • Leverage eLearning tools and technologies (e.g., Articulate, Captivate) to develop and enhance training materials.
  • An ability to analyze and logically organize complex technical information, and transform complex bodies of information into professionally designed, engaging and effective training.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment or individually on projects.
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on teamwork and communication.
  • Ability to apply discretion and trust with confidential material.
  • Ability to effectively apply analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Can work independently, self-directed with excellent time management skills with the ability to multi- task and meet deadlines, shifting to meet client needs when required.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness. Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications
