Ameresco is seeking a highly skilled and experienced DDC (Direct Digital Controls) Controls Project Manager to oversee and manage our DDC controls projects. As a DDC Controls Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the planning, execution, and successful completion of multiple projects related to building automation and controls systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, vendors, and clients, to ensure the smooth implementation and integration of DDC controls solutions.
Responsibilities:
Project Management: Manage all aspects of DDC controls projects, including scope definition, project planning, resource allocation, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as engineers, technicians, contractors, and clients, to gather requirements, assess project needs, and ensure alignment of project goals and objectives.
Technical Expertise: Demonstrate a strong understanding of DDC controls systems, building automation technologies, and industry best practices. Provide technical guidance and support to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Design and Engineering Support: Work closely with engineering teams to review design documents, ensure compliance with specifications, and offer expertise in DDC controls integration and programming.
Procurement and Vendor Management: Coordinate with procurement teams to source and procure necessary equipment, components, and software. Manage relationships with vendors and subcontractors, ensuring timely delivery of materials and adherence to project requirements.
Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality assurance processes to ensure that DDC controls systems meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
Project Documentation: Create and maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, schedules, progress reports, change orders, and as-built drawings.
Commissioning and Testing: Oversee the commissioning and testing of DDC controls systems to ensure functionality, efficiency, and performance. Conduct system walkthroughs and provide technical support during system startup and handover phases.
Team Leadership: Lead project teams, providing clear direction, setting performance goals, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Mentor and coach team members to enhance their technical skills and professional development.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DDC controls systems. Recommend process improvements and innovative solutions to enhance project delivery and customer satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
Proven experience (5+ years) in project management, preferably in the field of DDC controls systems or building automation.
Additional Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of DDC controls systems, including programming languages (such as BACnet, LonWorks, or Modbus), protocols, and integration with HVAC, lighting, and other building systems.
Proficient in project management methodologies and tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements in the building controls industry.
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.
Knowledge of energy management and sustainability practices is desirable.
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $70,000–$101,000 (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role.
Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. This range supports our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
