Job Description

Experian Consumer Services is a digital platform that helps consumers improve their financial wellness through credit education, identity protection, and financial products. This role provides legal support for the OwnUp and Home Marketplace businesses, with a focus on digital mortgage services, regulatory compliance, commercial agreements, and strategic business initiatives.

This is a hybrid position. You will report the SVP, Head of Legal, Consumer Services, within the Legal Department.

 

You will have opportunity to:

  • Provide legal guidance for digital mortgage shopping and consumer financial services.
  • Advise on compliance with federal and state mortgage, consumer finance, privacy, advertising, and consumer protection laws.
  • Review new products, services, and marketing initiatives for legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Assess legal and regulatory risks and recommend practical business solutions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial, partnership, and strategic agreements.
  • Partner with business leaders to support growth initiatives while managing legal risk.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting mortgage and consumer financial services.
  • Serve as a trusted legal advisor on regulatory and transactional matters.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license to practice law.
  • 6+ years of relevant legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
  • Experience advising on federal and state mortgage, consumer finance, privacy, and advertising laws.
  • Knowledge of regulations affecting mortgage brokers, lenders, and marketplace platforms.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
  • Experience supporting regulatory and transactional matters related to mortgage or consumer financial services.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay range for this position is listed above. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors such as job-related skills, experience, and education. You will be also eligible for a variable pay opportunity.
