Silgan Closures, a global manufacturer in sustainable packaging solutions, is seeking a Corporate Quality Engineer to join our team at our Downers Grove, IL Corporate Office.

This highly visible role is ideal for a Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Quality Engineer, or Quality Systems Engineer who is passionate about driving quality excellence, continuous improvement, and operational performance across a global manufacturing organization. You will identify, research, implement, manage, and audit systems that support corporate quality goals and manufacturing operations while collaborating with product development, suppliers, customers, and production teams.

The Corporate Quality Engineer will play a key role in enhancing quality management systems, supporting process improvements, and ensuring effective implementation of quality standards, inspection protocols, corrective actions, and preventive actions across multiple manufacturing facilities.

What you will do:

As the Corporate Quality Engineer, you will:

  • Audit and improve quality systems, process monitoring, and data collection tools
  • Support new product launches and manufacturing quality improvements
  • Develop and validate testing and inspection protocols
  • Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement projects
  • Utilize statistical analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to improve quality performance
  • Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and plant teams on quality initiatives
  • Support quality standards and best practices, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, FMEA, and ISO-based quality systems

What you'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and quality tools
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to regularly interact with material scientists, tool/process engineers, product development teams and all manufacturing functions
  • Comfortable with intermittent and escorted interaction with suppliers and customers
    • Preferred Qualifications:
      • 2+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Quality, or Quality Systems
      • Metal closures manufacturing experience
      • Demonstrated knowledge of statistics, problem solving and quality management equipment and systems
