We are seeking a Data Architect (Data Modeling Focus) to support one of our life sciences clients. This consultant will play a pivotal role in designing scalable, well-structured data models that underpin enterprise reporting and analytics. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives at the intersection of data modeling, business domain understanding, and analytics enablement.
You’ll focus on building scalable, well-structured data models that serve as the foundation for enterprise reporting and analytics in an Amazon Redshift and Power BI environment.
What you'll do
- Design and implement enterprise data models, including star schemas, fact and dimension tables, and semantic models to support analytics in Power BI
- Build and optimize data architecture within Amazon Redshift, ensuring scalability, performance, and data consistency
- Develop source-to-target (S2T) mappings, data dictionaries, and lineage documentation for key business domains
- Translate business and functional requirements into robust data models that support end-to-end reporting
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders across global teams to ensure model alignment and interoperability
- Work with a variety of key life sciences data sources to model commercial, sales, marketing, and CRM datasets
- Define, maintain, and enforce modeling standards, best practices, and architectural patterns
What we're looking for
- Strong experience in data architecture and data modeling, particularly dimensional and semantic modeling
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift or a similar cloud data warehouse platform
- Proficiency in building semantic models in Power BI
- Strong SQL skills for model development, validation, optimization, and data quality checks
- Solid understanding of data governance, metadata, and lineage
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical partners
- Experience with ERWin or similar data modeling tools
- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA, Oracle EPM, and Coupa data structures
- Exposure to SAP Datasphere, Informatica, or other ETL/ELT platforms
- Experience working within global or matrixed enterprise environments
