Project Scope
We are seeking a Mid Level Data Engineer to support a healthcare organization on a short-term engagement. This role will develop and maintain data solutions, build and support data pipelines, and deliver reporting datasets in a complex enterprise environment.
Position Summary
The Mid Level Data Engineer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining SQL-based data solutions within a healthcare data environment. This individual will work closely with application owners and business stakeholders to understand data requirements, build and support ETL/ELT processes, and ensure data accuracy and integrity ahead of production deployments. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, communicates effectively across technical and business teams, and brings hands-on SQL, DBeaver, and Epic Clarity experience to a fast-paced engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Map historical legacy EHR data fields to appropriate Epic Clarity and Cobbodle data models to ensure long-term data continuity.
- Audit ad validate converted data through structured reconciliation processes to maintain strict data integrity between systems.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Use DBeaver as the primary database management and development tool.
- Build and support ETL/ELT processes across the data environment.
- Leverage Epic Clarity data models to support reporting and data extraction needs.
- Troubleshoot data quality and performance issues.
- Partner with application owners and business stakeholders to gather and translate data requirements.
- Validate data accuracy and perform testing prior to production deployments.
- Document data flows, transformations, and technical specifications.
- Participate in knowledge transfer with the internal team throughout the engagement.
Qualifications
- Certified in Epic Cogito and Clarity
- 3–6 years of Data Engineering experience.
- Strong SQL development skills required.
- Strong exp. with Caboodle
- Hands-on experience using DBeaver required.
- Experience building and maintaining ETL or ELT processes.
- Strong understanding of relational databases and data modeling.
- Experience with Epic Clarity data models and reporting structures; certification not required but hands-on experience preferred.
- Experience with data validation and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills across technical and business audiences.
- Healthcare experience strongly preferred.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python.
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Informatica, dbt, or similar ETL tools.
- Power BI or Tableau exposure.
- Experience supporting Epic reporting or healthcare data environments.
