TITLE: Lead Operational Data Strategy Analyst
DUTIES: Discover Products Inc . seeks Lead Operational Data Strategy Analyst in Riverwoods, IL to maintain and enhance data sources and platforms to provide reliable operational reporting support. Collaborate with the internal and external business partners to provide standard and ad-hoc reporting and data extract support. Provide reporting, data and information to operational units to assess performance results and support decision-making. Utilize various software applications such as spreadsheets, relationship databases, statistical and graphical packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and reports. Link data from multiple data sources and perform structured analysis. Analyze complex financial and operations data; extract and define relevant information. Interpret data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and/or to project a financial probability. Manage development and implementation of analytic data warehouse and associated datamarts. Document reporting and analysis requirements, when applicable. Ensure adequate test and control are in place for the validity of reporting. Gather business requirements for report and data file creation requests. Translate business requirements into technical specifications. Conduct code reviews and recommend alternative programming tools to improve quality and timeliness of results. Coordinate with Business Technology to monitor accuracy and timeliness of data. Prepare formal and informal communications to internal business partners and direct management regarding initiatives, issues, and achievements. Provide regularly scheduled progress reports both to business partners and direct management. Collaborate with team members to share expertise and generate alternative solutions to project or environmental issues. Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Technical Management, Statistics, Operations Management, Business Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and four (4) years of experience in job offered or related occupation: providing advanced operational and reporting analysis, such as data quality management, data handling with multiple systems, cost/benefit analysis and developing production simulation model in various scenarios and making recommendations to senior management in improving production efficiency and cost savings analysis; working in data migration, data validation, and analytics projects; and utilizing advanced statistical software including SAS, SQL, Business Intelligence, Teradata, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
