Title: Quantitative Trading Analyst
Location: Chicago

Position Summary
As an entry-level Quantitative Trading Analyst at Wolverine Trading, you will work directly with both traders and programmers to understand/develop/improve systems and strategies on our trading desks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate aptitude and willingness to develop current skills while learning new ones. There is upward mobility potential for excellent performers in this role towards other trading and development positions.
Responsibilities

Responsible for large data set verification and normalization (SQL intensive).
Maintaining, developing and improving a set of processes necessary for the day to day life of the desk.
Help in the elaboration of new strategies by data mining and solving complexity issues.
Act as backup for end of day hedging and booking of trades and managing trader books.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
Data mining / Statistical analysis knowledge.
Reliable AND efficient programmer in at least one programming language.
Experience working with SQL, VBA, or C#.
Proficient in Python and Excel.
Strong communication skills and desire to work in a team environment.
Demonstrates a competitive nature and performance under pressure.
Excellent quantitative and problem-solving skills.

As a database engineer, Kenny helps steer data efforts across the company. Recently, to redesign the structures and processes involved with archiving a large amount of data, she leveraged SQL to overhaul tables to decrease downtime during the archive process. “A portion of my project was written to be flexible enough to be used in different business areas. In this way, we have also planned for future internal projects."

Trading might be the pulse of the firm, but thanks to this 19-year-company veteran and his team, the kitchen gives it heart. Remote work hasn’t diluted the culinary culture, as Kreke and co. have posted recipes to the company website, like brisket chili and chicken shawarma, as they continue to develop their craft. “Hopefully, this time away will spark everyone’s creativity to come up with new ideas when we return,” he said.
