Job Summary

Responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of a privacy strategy to support various initiatives in the Privacy Operations function. Assists in developing effective compliance tools and tracking mechanisms to automate department initiatives. Supports privacy initiatives relating to policy development, and privacy governance. Assists in project management with evolving privacy operations initiatives. Works cross-functionally with Pharmacy Operations, Front-End Operations, Legal, and other relevant business functions. Performs daily operational activities within the Privacy Office to ensure Walgreens maintains privacy standards. Helps to mitigate risk and responds to regulatory agencies, team members, customers etc. on Privacy questions and/or issues presented. Review of Privacy regulation documents and handle accordingly.

Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)

  • Develops, implements and conducts risk based reviews/audits, which are in compliance with privacy and audit standards, guidelines and best practices
  • Supports projects relating to enhancement of global intranet sites to improve compliance visibility.
  • Assists in updating of existing policies and drafts new policies, as needed. Assists in the development of Privacy correspondence to regulatory agencies, team members, annual privacy training etc. Manages all related incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve and streamline compliance processes and leverages Data Analytics and Monitoring resources to implement.
  • Effectively evaluates overall audit results, weighing the relevancy, accuracy, and perspective of conclusions against the accumulated audit evidence.
  • Provides support relating to WBA policy updates and policy portal initiative.
  • Works cross-functionally with other functions (e.g., Pharmacy Operations, Loss Prevention, Legal, Asset Protection, HR) to support compliance projects.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, professional standards, ethical principles, and other privacy requirements. Regularly monitor advancements in information privacy technologies and legislative and regulatory developments to ensure appropriate adoption and compliance with applicable laws.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of experience in a corporate compliance and/or privacy role OR a High School Diploma and at least 4 years of experience in a corporate compliance and/or privacy role.
  • Experience leveraging technology and systems to enhance compliance/privacy processes.
  • Experience with data analytics, monitoring and/or auditing.
  • Experience with Project Management
  • Intermediate to advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
  • Intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: inserting, rearranging, hiding and deleting slides, navigating between slides, increasing list level, adding, centering and editing text, changing views, inserting a table or a note, moving objects, printing outline view and/or running a slide show).
  • Intermediate to advanced level skill in Microsoft Word.
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of experience in a corporate compliance and/or privacy role.
