Peraton is seeking a Database Administrator. Candidate shall be part of a team responsible for providing development support with a Department of Defense customer. System is a mainframe system that contains multiple systems/subsystems using both online and batch processing. system also interfaces with approximately 53 other systems by batch data transmissions. The customer base includes the Air Force, Army, Navy, and other DoD organizations world-wide.
This position is 100% remote.
What will you do:
The Database Administrator will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:
- Software development and database administration using Cincom SUPRA PDM, MANTIS, COBOL, and JCL.
- They shall provide technical support and consultation in the review and acceptance of deliverables related to the system platform modernization.
- The system is hosted on z/OS (IBM mainframe operating system).
- The candidate must be able to support numerous SUPRA PDM databases, maintain COBOL copybooks to coincide with database changes, and manage the Total-File-Views, which are internal variable names that allow the online programmers to interact with the database files.
- The candidate must also perform directory maintenance for SUPRA PDM database files.
- The candidate must evaluate the database environment, document their function and create diagrams of their interactions to support MOCAS platform modernization.
- The candidate must be familiar with programming languages identified below and development tools as specified below.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD or 12 years with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be a U.S Citizen
- Must have Active Public Trust clearance

- Good problem-solving skills
- Strong working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies.
- Ability to follow complex instructions, work independently, or function in a team as needed.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for full product development life-cycle desired.
- Ability to prioritize, plan, organize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to effectively present to and interact with all levels of management.
- Highly adaptive and flexible to a changing environment.

Target Salary Range$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
