JOB SUMMARY

This position is eligible for remote work in one of the following states: Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin, or Wyoming. This position will require some travel for office meetings, as needed, to our corporate office in Tulsa, OK.

Job Profile Summary
Provides advanced level database services including design, creation, and maintenance of database systems.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain databases including but not limited to:

    • Optimal database performance by tuning database parameters and settings

    • Data integrity and reliability

    • Data security

    • Disk space management

    • Capacity planning

    • Troubleshooting of performing SQL issues

    • Ensures databases are properly backed up

  • Design complex database schema and table structures for new development. Install and configure database packages

  • Coordinate with development personnel and end users to resolve data conflicts and complicated performance problems

  • Coordinate with technical and development personnel to identify requirements for new database design

  • Compile, calculate, analyze, and prepare information and reports related to databases including but not limited to:

    • System security and event logs

    • Performance monitoring reports

    • Disk utilization reports

    • Backup/recovery logs

    • Database dump scripts

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer sciences or other related field with previous experience or equivalent formal education to include a combination of such courses as programming languages (Visual Basic, C, C++, Java, PL/SQL, etc.) computers and society; computer organization; data structures and algorithm analysis; numerical analysis, file processing, database processing, and operating systems plus the following job-related experience:

Work Experience

  • Experience with all areas of administration of applicable database systems. Experience supporting Oracle databases in a corporate environment

  • Experience and/or training in use and function of database systems such as:

    • Designing and working with multiple instances of Oracle RDMBS

    • Utilizing Enterprise Manager and other management tools to maintain and tune Oracle databases

    • Modifying stored procedures in a database server environment

    • Utilizing SQL, Linux administrative skills

  • Experience in reading and interpreting company correspondence, reports, cost analyses, contracts, manuals, and computer printouts, and legal documents

  • Experience in regards to research, compose, and prepare reports, studies, recommendations, and correspondence applicable to position 

  • Experience interacting and communicating effectively

  • Experience developing and presenting information to individuals and groups

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of: relational database design including table structures, indexes, and primary/foreign key fields. Experience with problem resolution and technical troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to: apply math, algebra, and statistical and volumetric methods

  • Ability to: lead, train, coach, delegate and review work activities

  • Ability to: communicate and/or exchange written and verbal information and instructions
