Huron is seeking a Delphi/AMISYS Developer experience to support healthcare payer technology initiatives focused on the design, development, testing, enhancement, and maintenance of applications that support core health plan operations. In this role, you will be a partner with business, IT, and operations stakeholders to understand payer business needs, translate requirements into technical solutions, troubleshoot application and system issues, and deliver high-quality technology support for claims and related health plan processes.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on Delphi development experience, working knowledge of AMISYS, and practical experience supporting claims processing within a healthcare payer or health plan environment. This individual is a collaborative problem solver who can work independently, analyze complex application issues, communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and contribute to reliable solutions that support client and member outcomes.Qualifications

RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, enhance, test, and support Delphi-based applications used in healthcare payer operations.
  • Support AMISYS-related application functionality, integrations, data flows, and issue resolution across claims and related payer business processes.
  • Partner with business users, health plan operations teams, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications.
  • Analyze claims processing issues, system defects, production incidents, and data discrepancies; identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
  • Develop and execute unit testing, support system and user acceptance testing, and assist with validation of claims-related functionality.
  • Work with relational databases to write, analyze, and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, and data extracts as needed.
  • Document technical designs, code changes, issue resolutions, and operational procedures to support long-term maintainability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support implementations, upgrades, enhancements, conversions, interfaces, and production support activities.
  • Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and technical findings clearly to stakeholders.
  • Apply healthcare payer, claims, and health plan knowledge to help deliver practical, scalable, and compliant technology solutions.

Experience required for this role:

  • Hands-on Delphi development experience, preferably within a healthcare payer, managed care, or health plan environment.
  • Experience working with AMISYS or other core payer administration platforms.
  • Strong understanding of claims processing workflows, including claims adjudication, claims edits, payment logic, provider data, member eligibility, and related operational processes.
  • Experience supporting health plan business functions and collaborating with claims, operations, configuration, customer service, enrollment, or provider teams.
  • Proficiency with SQL and experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to analyze complex production issues, troubleshoot application defects, and develop sustainable technical solutions.
  • Experience with application development life cycle activities, including requirements analysis, technical design, coding, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data exchanges, payer interfaces, EDI transactions, or claims-related integrations is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to business stakeholders and translate business needs for technical teams.
  • Self-directed working style with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Consulting experience or experience working in client-facing environments is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years of hands-on Delphi development experience supporting enterprise applications, enhancements, production support, and system maintenance.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with AMISYS or another healthcare payer core administration platform.
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting claims-related functionality within a healthcare payer, managed care organization, or health plan environment.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with claims processing workflows, including claims adjudication, edits, payment logic, provider data, member eligibility, and related operational processes.
  • 3-5 years of SQL experience, including writing queries, analyzing data, troubleshooting defects, and supporting relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting application development life cycle activities, including requirements gathering, technical design, coding, unit testing, deployment, and post-production support.
  • Experience working with payer interfaces, data exchanges, EDI transactions, or claims-related integrations is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across business, health plan operations, and IT teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or mathematics OR associate’s degree specifically in computer science field.
This role is available as a W2 hourly contract only, with rates ranging from $85–$100/hour based on relevant experience. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, and we are unable to consider H-1B, C2C, or 1099 candidates. Project duration subject to change.
