DevOps Engineer

This role will be part of Bally Media, a Bally's Interactive company, that operates the Bally Sports Live and Stadium sports streaming services. Bally Sports Live reimagines how fans experience live sports through free streaming apps built around real-time interactive communities, free-to-play games, and rewards. Stadium is a free ad-supported streaming (FAST) sports network distributed through partners including Samsung TV Plus, Amazon Fire TV, Prime Video, LG Channels, Vizio WatchFree+, Tubi, YouTube TV, DirecTV, and Fubo. Together, the two platforms bring fans live events and re-airs from Minor League Baseball, the Savannah Bananas, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, Bare Knuckle Boxing, Pro Fighters League, AVP Pro Beach Volleyball, and more.

We're looking for a DevOps Engineer to drive the modernization, scalability, and reliability of our infrastructure across AWS and on-prem environments. Reporting to the Director, Platform Engineering, you'll work closely with software engineers, broadcast engineers, and product managers to evolve our cloud-first, AI-enabled DevOps practice.

You'll contribute to critical projects improving CI/CD across our backend, web, mobile, and CTV apps, strengthening observability and incident response, and aligning processes across teams and platforms. This is a hands-on role for someone who owns problems end to end, collaborates openly, brings a calm, reliability-first mindset to incidents, and is always looking to automate toil and improve how we build and operate. Responsibilties:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure in AWS
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and Ansible
• Contribute to improvements in system architecture, focusing on reliability, observability, and cost-efficiency
• Modernize our CI/CD practices, including the adoption of AI-assisted tooling, to enable safe, rapid delivery of services across environments
• Improve operational visibility through monitoring, logging, and tracing, applying AIOps approaches to anomaly detection and incident response.
• Contribute to engineering standards, documentation, and design reviews
• Align DevOps tooling and processes across teams, promoting platform consistency and best practices
• On-call rotation and coverage during live events, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support broadcast reliability and incident response.

 

Salary: $100,000-$145,000 USD

Qualifications Experience Preferred Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience 2–5 years of hands-on DevOps or platform engineering experience, with a focus on cloud infrastructure Experience with core AWS services (e.g., EC2, ECS/EKS, VPC, IAM, RDS, ALB, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, CloudWatch) Working knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible), including reusable modules and remote state management Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines Experience with observability and incident-response tooling (Datadog, PagerDuty, or similar) Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking, and distributed architectures Experience operating systems at scale across multiple environments and AWS accounts Experience with containerized workloads (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS, ArgoCD, or similar) Scripting or programming proficiency (Bash, Python, Go) Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation, including evenings, weekends, and holidays during live events Equal Opportunity Employer
