We are seeking a highly skilled, Python-focused DevOps Engineer to join our Chicago office. This is an on-premises, low-latency systems role—minimal cloud work—where you’ll work side-by-side with traders, developers, and infrastructure engineers to design, automate, and fine-tune the systems that power our trading strategies.
What You’ll Do- Design, build, and maintain Python-based automation tools to support trading and infrastructure systems.
- Optimize Linux-based, on-prem environments for maximum performance and reliability.
- Lead performance and latency testing for mission-critical trading applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact technical improvements.
- Serve as a mentor and technical leader, guiding junior engineers toward best practices.
Required:
- 5+ years of Linux use and administration experience.
- Expert-level Python programming skills with a track record of building automation tools.
- Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with accelerated network adapters.
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Strong background in performance testing and tuning.
- Experience with latency-sensitive applications on Linux.
- Regression testing experience.
- Full-stack tool development experience (JavaScript + Python).
Benefits and Compensation:
Base Salary Range: $100,000- $180,000 + Eligible for performance based bonus
The final salary determination will be dependent on the successful candidate's skills, experience, education, and qualifications.
