Geneva Trading is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our Chicago office. In this role, you’ll collaborate with our trading, infrastructure, and development teams to build, maintain, and optimize the systems that power our low-latency trading environment. We’re looking for a strong technical leader with a passion for automation and performance who can also mentor junior engineers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, build, and maintain automated tools to support trading and infrastructure systems.
  • Optimize Linux-based environments for performance and reliability.
  • Lead performance and latency testing for mission-critical applications.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive technical improvements and best practices.
  • Act as a mentor and technical lead, supporting the growth of junior engineers.

What We’re Looking For:

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience with Linux use and administration.
  • Strong Python programming skills.
  • Proven ability to build simple, robust automated tools.
  • Experience with performance testing and tuning.
  • Background in latency-sensitive applications running on Linux.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with accelerated network adapters.
  • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with regression testing practices.
  • Full-stack tool development experience using JavaScript and Python.
