Kemper is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer.  The DevOps Engineer 4 works as part of a collaborative team responsible for supporting and evolving continuous integration and automated release processes across on-premises and public cloud environments. This role helps maintain system stability, improve build/test pipelines, and automate deployments in support of the organization’s growth and evolving needs.

The focus will be on delivering efficient, reliable automation while ensuring quality and scalability across the development lifecycle. This engineer will contribute to agile teams, helping improve software delivery through better tooling, automation, and infrastructure practices.

Responsibilities

  • Support and improve the agile SDLC process and related tools
  • Contribute to the automation of software builds, tests, and deployments
  • Maintain and enhance infrastructure for build and test environments
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams to streamline product delivery
  • Monitor and troubleshoot build/test infrastructure
  • Participate in the development and improvement of CI/CD pipelines
  • Contribute to infrastructure as code solutions for repeatable deployments
  • Assist in documentation of build and release processes
  • Provide operational support for DevOps tools and services

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of experience in development, infrastructure, or automation roles
  • Working knowledge of DevOps principles and CI/CD best practices
  • Hands-on experience with source control systems like Git
  • Administration experience with Snowflake or Informatica IDMC preferred
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Bash scripting)
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation or Ansible)
  • Experience with AWS or another public cloud provider
  • Understanding of Linux and/or Windows system administration
  • Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools preferred
  • Experience with serverless tools (e.g., AWS Lambda) is a plus
  • Familiarity with Snowflake, Informatica or HVR as a plus
  • This position works at a Kemper office

The range for this position is $99,000 to $164,800. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors. This job is eligible for Kemper benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.).
