You will support the audience and first party data team in planning and executing email campaigns, tracking social and email results, managing and analyzing first-party data, and helping to build our audience and lead-gen machine. If you love books AND data, this is a great role for you on a team full of analytics-minded book fiends who work across all of Sourcebooks dynamic titles. This is an entry-level role — ideal if you’ve had internships or coursework in marketing and are ready to roll up your sleeves.
The location for this position can be hybrid or remote in New York or Naperville, Illinois or remote based in any of the following states: Arizona, Connecticut, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington D.C., and Wisconsin.
This is a non-exempt hourly position with a pay range of $22.00 - $25.00/hourly We determine starting pay based on a thorough evaluation of job-related factors, including geographic location, market conditions, relevant experience, training, and education. This process ensures a fair and competitive salary that aligns with both the company and the candidate’s qualifications.   
What you’ll do:

  • Conduct research on audience behaviors, channel trends, competitors and share insights to inform optimization
  • Coordinate with designers/creative team, external vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure on-time asset delivery
  • Launch and manage paid social media campaigns (particularly for lead generation), including ad creation, audience targeting, and budget monitoring.
  • Assist with A/B testing of subject lines, social content formats and audience segments; collect learnings
  • Assist in the planning, creation and execution of email campaigns (e.g., list segmentation, content set-up, scheduling, tracking)
  • Support email and content marketing calendar help draft posts, schedule content, monitor engagement and performance
  • Maintain and update first-party data systems (e.g., CRM, email database, audience lists), ensuring accuracy and hygiene
  • Help manage day-to-day marketing operations: maintain calendars, update dashboards, document processes and workflows
  • Support ad hoc projects as needed to help scale our data-driven marketing efforts
What you bring
  • Bachelor’s degree (Marketing, Communications, Business or related) preferred, or equivalent internship experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, comfortable juggling multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Basic understanding of digital marketing channels (email, social) and interest in measurement/analytics
  • Comfortable working with data: Excel/spreadsheets, basic reporting, metrics tracking
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn marketing tools (CRM, email platforms, social scheduling tools)
Preferred (not required):
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot)
  • Experience with social media advertising tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite).
  • Basic knowledge of first-party audience segmentation or CRM usage.
  • Understanding of lead generation and performance marketing concepts
  • Any design or content creation experience (e.g., Canva, Adobe)
