We are seeking a Director of Business Development to join Superior Insurance Partners. The Director will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, leading due diligence, and working with the broader team to ultimately close a large number of high-quality acquisitions and partnerships.  The Director will be a key member of the team, with day-to-day interaction with both the company’s executive management team as well as TDP.

The candidate will join a highly collaborative and motivated team in a dynamic environment with substantial opportunity to create value and contribute to the company’s growth and success. Qualified candidates should demonstrate a strong desire and passion for M&A and business development, working with small business owners, and a great goal-oriented attitude.


Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the process of identification, evaluation, and execution of acquisition opportunities within a dedicated geographic region
  • Owns the responsibility of building and maintaining a relationship with small business owners
  • Negotiate and explain deal terms while maintaining a positive working relationship with the business owner
  • Partner with senior leadership and TDP to set and execute strategy
  • Assist other business development officers in their efforts to obtain new business and retain existing relationships
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contacts, customers, and brokers to maintain and expand business
  • Lead due diligence (including managing third-parties), valuation analysis, and proposal development for potential acquisition candidates
  • Help build post transaction value creation plans with owners to ensure a successful investment post close
  • Work with senior management and third-party vendors to efficiently close transactions
  • Wear multiple hats if needed and be a team player in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of M&A experience (investment banking, private equity, corporate development or direct lending) or relevant insurance sales experience
  • Prior experience communicating directly with small business owners
  • Prior cold calling experience
  • Prior experience at a multi-site acquisition driven organization
  • Team player and self-starter
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office products
  • Bachelor’s degree required

 

Compensation

Highly competitive compensation consisting of base salary, an annual performance bonus, and equity package.
