The Senior Contracts Specialist at IGNITE IT plays a crucial role in enhancing the performance and profitability of the organization by managing contracts and subcontracts that support federal government services. This position requires extensive experience in contract management, compliance with federal regulations, and collaboration with various teams to ensure successful contract execution.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Provides domain expertise in contract or subcontract management.
  • Administers contracts or subcontracts and monitors contract or subcontract performance.
  • Acts as focal point for all contractual communications and commitments to customers or subcontractors.
  • Maintains documentation and files in accordance with applicable processes.
  • Assures compliance with applicable federal regulations and internal policies and procedures.
  • Participates as a key member of the proposal or program team to address contract and/or subcontract requirements.
  • Collaborates with the Capture/Proposal/Program Manager to support overall contract or subcontract performance.
  • Reviews Requests for Proposals and participates in preparing compliant proposal responses.
  • Reviews or supports reviews of subcontractor proposals including management of the source selection process.
  • Negotiates contracts or subcontracts within business goals and documents substance of discussions, agreements, and results.
  • Reviews contract or subcontract documents for accuracy, performance risk, and conformance with contract terms, conditions, and other provisions.
  • Collaborates as a key member of program team to ensure contract or subcontract requirements are fully understood and executed.
  • Responds to internal and external inquiries regarding contract or subcontract issues, audits, and compliance requirements.
  • Manages contract or subcontract change process and works with the Program Manager to mitigate performance risk.
  • Advises and supports business team on issues and developments relative to assigned contracts or subcontracts.
  • Monitors contract and subcontract performance for scope changes and takes appropriate action.
  • Builds customer or subcontractor relationships and knows customer or subcontractor needs and issues.
  • Provides leadership, subject matter expertise, and innovative recommendations to contracting issues.

Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Broad expertise in contract or subcontract management.
  • Very substantial knowledge of applicable federal regulations (FAR/DFARS).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
