Executive Summary

Lantheus is seeking a highly experienced, hands-on technology leader to serve as Director, Head of IT – Data, Analytics, Information Management, Automation & AI. This role will lead the enterprise transformation from fragmented, request-driven reporting toward a governed, scalable, data-driven, AI-enabled operating model. The position is based in Bedford, Massachusetts and supports a global life sciences organization with operations in the United States, Canada, and Sweden.

The leader will own strategy, architecture, delivery, operations, governance, and cultural evolution across enterprise data, analytics, information management, automation, AI, and GenAI. Success requires strong technical credibility, architectural judgment, business partnership skills, transformation leadership, and the ability to inspire a team through a major maturity journey.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Director will define and execute a multi-year enterprise roadmap that advances Lantheus’ capabilities across data foundations, analytics platforms, information management, automation, and responsible AI. The role spans all major business functions, including R&D, Commercial, Technical Operations, Quality, Medical, G&A, and other enterprise functions.

This role is expected to move the organization from application-centric reporting and tactical delivery toward standardized master data, reusable data products, a governed enterprise data marketplace, self-service analytics, natural-language insights, AI/GenAI applications, and cross-functional agentic AI orchestration.

Key Responsibilities 

Enterprise data strategy and transformation: Establish and execute the data, analytics, information management, automation, and AI roadmap. Build governed data foundations, reusable data entities, data integration, mastering, lineage, quality, and stewardship practices. Create a searchable enterprise data marketplace and establish guidance for analytics platforms and BI tools.

Business partnering and stakeholder management: Serve as the enterprise-facing IT leader for data. Build trusted partnerships with business leaders, manage demand and use-case intake, establish customer feedback loops, and ensure data capabilities are easy to find, use, trust, and translate into business value.

AI, automation, and analytics enablement: Drive adoption of AI and GenAI solutions, including buy-versus-build assessments, lifecycle management, and delivery of high-impact use cases. Lead agentic AI orchestration initiatives and scale automation across RPA, workflow automation, intelligent automation, test automation, chatbots, process mining, and optimization.

Training, change management, and adoption: Develop enterprise training strategies for data, analytics, automation, and AI. Build role-based learning pathways, center-led enablement programs, communication plans, stakeholder alignment, and adoption support for new platforms, operating models, and ways of working.

Governance, risk, and compliance: Establish enterprise data governance, stewardship, data quality, access, privacy, security, and responsible AI practices. Partner with Legal, Compliance, Quality, and Security to align with standards such as GxP, SOX, GDPR, and data privacy expectations.

  • Set and execute a multi-year enterprise data, analytics, information management, automation, and AI roadmap aligned with business priorities across all Lantheus functions including R&D, Commercial, TechOps, Quality, Medical, and G&A.
  • Lead the shift from a fragmented, application-centric reporting ecosystem to an enterprise-standardized data foundation with governed, reusable data entities.
  • Establish data integration, mastering, lineage, and governance frameworks that materially improve data quality, accessibility, and trust.
  • Create a searchable enterprise data marketplace and a suite of data products enabling self-service analytics, natural-language data queries, and secure business-friendly discovery and reuse of data assets.
  • Establish Analytics Platforms (BI Tools) Guidance across all functions

Operational, people, and portfolio leadership: Oversee dashboards, analytics solutions, integrations, data pipelines, and information management capabilities. Mature the team from tactical order-taking to strategic advisory, manage managers and senior technical leaders, build a culture of engineering excellence and business empathy, and own budgets, vendor relationships, platform investments, contracts, chargeback models, and demand prioritization.

Required Experience and Qualifications 

  • 15+ years of progressive experience across enterprise data, analytics, integration, information management, automation, AI, and GenAI.
  • Demonstrated hands-on and architectural depth across modern data, analytics, automation, and AI platforms.
  • Proven success leading enterprise transformation toward standardized data, governed ecosystems, self-service analytics, automation, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Leadership experience managing managers, architects, engineers, product owners, developers, and analysts.
  • Strong financial management experience, including portfolio budgets, vendor management, cost allocation, chargeback, consumption models, and platform investment decisions.
  • Life sciences or pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred; bachelor’s degree required and master’s degree preferred.

  • Understands major life sciences functions such as R&D, Commercial, Product Development/Manufacturing, Technical Operations, Quality, Medical, and G&A.
  • Can uplift a tactical team into a high-performing strategic advisory organization while maintaining business continuity and employee engagement.

Relevant Technology and Platform Experience 

  • Enterprise data and analytics platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Informatica – MDM, Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) and Cloud Data Marketplace (CDMP), Power BI, Microsoft Purview, Databricks Unity Catalog, ThoughtSpot, Starburst, Copilot, and Copilot Studio.
  • AI/ML and GenAI platforms such as AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, Google Vertex AI, leading large language models, MLflow, Kubeflow, and function-specific GenAI applications in life sciences.
  • Engineering and deployment tools such as Spark, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Copilot, AI-assisted content generation tools, and modern MLOps practices.
  • Automation and process platforms such as UiPath, Blue Prism, Power Automate, Aisera, Celonis, Signavio, Tricentis Tosca, and ServiceNow.
  • Responsible AI, ethical AI, governance, security, privacy, and integration of AI into business strategy and operating models.

The pay range for this position is between $172,000 and $287,000 annually.

Actual base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Employees in this position are eligible for a discretionary performance-based cash incentive. Benefits for this position include a comprehensive health benefits package that includes medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage. Other offerings include life and disability benefits, pre-tax accounts, a 401(k) with company contribution, and a variety of other benefits.
