As the Director, Human Resources (HR) Technology Consulting, you'll lead a team that provides services specializing in functional team consultation and ongoing design, deployment, and maintenance of the human resources information system.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads team that delivers configuration, testing, validation services and maintenance for Workday, our Human Resources Information System including, but not limited to, payroll, benefits, absence, compensation, talent acquisition, security, self-service, mobile, and integrations. 

  • Drives issue resolution, enhancement solutions and prioritization in partnership with senior leaders, business and technology partners. Works closely with Workday vendor to handle day-to-day operations. 

  • Partners and strategizes with leaders and internal customers to determine data and information needs, and the use of information to aid in making business decisions. Plans and supports current and new technology implementations. 

  • Serves as Workday expert to provide customer support, analyze and resolve issues and errors, review reports, assess issue impacts and provide essential reporting for highly complex and confidential needs. 

  • Partners with leaders and users to continuously improve service delivery. Responds to complex customer inquiries and supports the Associate Solutions Center for calls related to the system and certain processes.

  • Supports the deployment of feature releases and system maintenance, ensuring client requirements are met. Evaluates feasibility of system modifications and enhancements and consults with business partners for prioritization and implementation.

  • Develops and maintains training materials and job aids, in addition to leading training efforts in partnership with organizational change team. Ensures up-to-date documentation of system functions, processes and capabilities. Participates in scheduled and ad hoc training to improve policy and process acuity.

  • Leads associate management including performance, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow and organization planning, day-to-day management, hiring and placement and disciplinary actions for direct and possibly indirect reports. 

May perform other responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to the Associate Vice President, Human Resources Technology and Data Governance. Manages a team of HR technology professionals. 

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in multiple subject areas such as insurance, technology, human resources or financial business processes. 

Experience: Ten or more years of related experience in business, technology, insurance, operations, mathematics, human resources or related field, or similar business related position that involves analysis, problem solving, planning, coordinating and organizing. Three to five years of experience or training in HRIS, preferably Workday, and partnering with senior leaders preferred. 

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Demonstrated skills in leadership, influencing, educating, negotiating, decision making and strategy planning and development. Knowledge of human resources systems and other digital technology capabilities. Ability to do system configuration, testing, integrations and report management. Knowledge of business process and associate data management. Business consulting and relationship management skills. Proven data and analytics and problem resolution skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Skilled at vendor management, project/process management and business assessments. 

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence. 

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resources Business Partner.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Extended or non-standard work hours may be required. May require occasional travel with overnight stay.

Note on Compensation for Part-Time Roles: Please be aware that the salary ranges listed below reflect full-time compensation. Actual compensation may be prorated based on the number of hours worked relative to a full-time schedule.

The national salary range for Director, Human Resources Technology Consulting : $138,000.00-$243,000.00

The expected starting salary range for Director, Human Resources Technology Consulting : $138,000.00 - $206,000.00
