Position Overview:
The Director, Regulatory Change Initiatives plays a critical role in leading complex compliance-related change initiatives within CrossCountry Mortgage. This role functions as an advanced business analyst for regulatory change, responsible for translating Legal’s impact assessments into detailed business, system, and process requirements and then driving those changes into workable system, process, control, and documentation changes. This role partners closely with Legal, Operations, Technology, Risk, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance changes are implemented effectively, validated appropriately, and documented thoroughly. The Director, Regulatory Change Initiatives serves as a senior resource to the team by helping structure work, resolve ambiguity, and guide less experienced team members.

Job Responsibilities:
•    Own medium-to-large regulatory and compliance change tickets from start to finish, including intake, scope clarification, assignment coordination, status tracking, and closure documentation.
•    Serve as a senior business analyst for regulatory changes by translating Legal and business needs into clear business, technology, and procedural requirements that cross‑functional stakeholders can understand and execute.
•    Partner with Legal following regulatory impact assessments to determine required system, process, control, and policy or procedure updates.
•    Draft detailed requirements for system-related changes, including configuration updates, decisioning changes, workflow changes, new fields, and related technology enhancements.
•    Work with Technology teams, business partners, and external vendors to implement approved compliance-related system changes accurately and efficiently.
•    Design and document practical non-technology solutions when a regulatory or compliance issue requires process updates, control enhancements, or new or revised policies and procedures rather than a system change.
•    Lead the compliance workstream for cross-functional projects by coordinating and monitoring implementation deliverables, timelines, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder responsibilities.
•    Conduct research and analysis of regulatory requirements, existing controls, operational processes, and current-state workflows to support sound solution development.
•    Plan, coordinate, and support validation and testing activities for compliance-related changes, including system testing, process walkthroughs, and control verification.
•    Review testing results, investigate gaps, and drive follow-up actions to ensure implemented changes address the underlying compliance issue or regulatory requirement.
•    Prepare clear project summaries, status updates, and dashboards for leadership and governance meetings, highlighting implementation metrics, key risks, decisions needed, and overall program trends.
•    Maintain complete and defensible documentation of decisions, requirements, testing evidence, approvals, and implementation outcomes to support audit, examination, and internal review needs.
•    Identify recurring issues or workflow gaps and recommend processes, systems, or documentation improvements that strengthen operational efficiency and compliance controls.
•    Facilitate implementation meetings and communicate clearly and consistently with Legal, Operations, Technology, Risk, leadership, and other stakeholders to keep initiatives moving and issues visible.
•    Provide informal guidance to analysts and coordinators on ticket structure, requirements development, risk thinking, testing expectations, and documentation standards.
•    Support continuous improvement of the Regulatory and Compliance Change Management program.

Qualifications and Skills:
•    Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•    Experience in compliance management, regulatory change, or business analysis related to compliance and technology change, with an excellent understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance best practices.
•    Experience in mortgage operations, preferably front-end mortgage operations, and a practical understanding of how regulatory requirements affect real-world workflows.
•    Experience with Encompass Loan Origination Software or similar loan origination systems, preferred.
•    Experience developing, coordinating, or evaluating validation and testing activities related to compliance, process, or technology changes.
•    Skilled in translating regulatory guidance, investor requirements, or internal policy expectations into system behavior, business requirements, process updates, and documentation changes.
•    Excellent problem-solving skills, including navigating ambiguous situations and identifying the appropriate questions, stakeholders, risks, and next steps when information is incomplete.
•    Skilled at working independently, managing ambiguity, and developing practical, defensible recommendations without requiring step-by-step direction.
•    Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, including identifying gaps in requirements, testing, controls, policies and procedures, or supporting documentation.
•    Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including explaining complex compliance issues in practical business terms across multiple audiences.
•    Advanced organizational, prioritization, and time management skills, effectively managing multiple tickets or workstreams simultaneously.
•    Skilled at documenting work thoroughly so that the rationale, implementation steps, and evidence supporting a change are clear to auditors, examiners, and internal reviewers.
