Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
- Evaluates defined business requirements and processes for application changes to system configuration, processes, data values or complex structures.
- Performs system analysis, develops recommendations and approves requests to ensure that changes comply with business need, governance policies, corporate data policy and/or accounting/reporting needs.
- Designs high level, functional and detailed designs for systems and data solutions.
- Consults with business, data and architectureareas to analyze system usage and end-to-end system capabilities, identifies risks, optimization alternatives and recommends and/or executes resolution.
- Drives accountability for system and data integrity by developing and executing necessary processes and controls around the inbound and outbound flow of data involving application systems.
- Collaborates with management, technical staff and subject matter advisors to understand business needs/issues, troubleshoot problems, conduct root cause analysis and develop cost effective resolutions for system and data anomalies.
- Designs reports, dashboards and key performance indicators to support analytical requirements and business strategy.
- Partners with data management and technology teams domestically and globally in support of data governance, enhancement of data insights and forward-looking innovation, including AI.
- Participates in application systems architecture discussions and recommends use of existing or new integrations and/or data elements that will enhance current systems and support overall corporate and business objectives.
- Participates in or leads application related projects including identifying business requirements, functional design, prototyping, process design including scenario design, flow mapping, testing, and training
- Analyzes, develops, and/or executes specifications for system configuration, data mapping and transformation processes within and between financial systems and its dependent upstream/downstream applications.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Advanced understanding of P&C insurance business and the supporting Distribution strategy.
- Experience with Agile methodology inclusive of leading teams through Agile Ceremonies, SAFe Agile Certification is preferred.
- Extensive experience with business process and systems configuration, building reports and understanding integration concepts to/from financial systems.
- Ability to assess how organizational hierarchy changes impact reporting, downstream systems and related operational processes.
- Ability to comprehend financial calculations and compensation models. Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Solid communication, interpersonal and presentation skills to work effectively among all levels of internal/external partners/clients.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic workforce.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Possesses advanced ability to influence.
- Skillful at learning and adapting to new system applications, functions, and concepts.
- Ability to develop strong relationships with internal business partners and external vendor partners.
- Ability to manage small projects or parts of large initiatives.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Typically, 5 - 7 years of commercial insurance industry or related experience.
- Typically, 3 - 5 years of agile experience. Agile certification is preferred.
- Project management experience preferred.
- Preferred experience working with internal teams such as Finance, Technology, Data, Operations, Underwriting, Distribution and Human Resources.
