Job Description

Immediate Need! 
Job Description: 
• Meeting budgeted hours, planned schedule, and agreed-upon level of quality on assigned project work. 
• Communicating with the UOP Discipline Lead on progress on assigned project work. 
• Interfacing with other disciplines to determine project instrument requirements. 
• Producing a complete definition of electrical requirements incorporating applicable code and customer requirements. 
• Developing P&IDs. 
• Preparing electrical requirement documents for the designer, fabricator, and installer. 
• Preparing single-line diagrams and electrical schematics for control of motors, electric heaters, and panelboards 
• Preparing electrical area classification drawings 
• Preparing power wiring, instrument wiring, grounding, lighting and receptacle layout drawings 
• Preparing panelboard and junction box layout drawings 
• Preparing installation details for electrical 
• Preparing heat-tracing calculations and heat-tracing layout drawings and isometrics 
• Preparing cable schedules for power wiring and instrument cable 
• Preparing electrical equipment requisitions and electrical equipment cost tabulations 
• Performing equipment-sizing calculations for switchgear, motor control equipment, cable, etc. 
• Recording electrical changes on the P&IDs in preparation for internal checks, customer checks, official release, and revisions. 
• Identifying inconsistencies and problems that may be present on equipment specifications or P&IDs during the design phase. 
• Determining if electrical revisions are required based on equipment specification revisions. 

Qualifications

Qualifications: 
• B.S. degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering 
• Minimum (5) years of experience with process instrumentation, procurement, and construction. 
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
