ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be a member of our multi-disciplinary team and will work under the direction of a licensed engineer. Projects may include new construction and renovation in educational, healthcare, sports, corporate commercial and science and technology.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Perform basic to moderately complex construction drawings and specifications of electrical engineering systems for building construction.
- Under limited supervision, design lighting, power distribution, communications and/or telecommunication systems for healthcare, education/higher education and commercial clients, including fire alarm systems.
- Analyze engineering documents and layout systems in regard to components and parts. Research and respond to design issues.
- Participate in value engineering sessions with Architectural/Engineering team.
- Apply knowledge of electrical code for the application of building power distribution design and circuiting.
- Recommend improvements with reference standards and processes to improve quality, coordination, and to streamline production efforts.
- Assists in the review and markup of shop drawings and submittals.
- Assists in gathering information to respond to RFI’s and review of change orders in the preparation of construction documents.
- Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress. Site visits frequently require a physical walk-through of site.
- May perform other related tasks as needed.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering required. Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience required.
- EIT/FE preferred.
- LEED accreditation preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to effectively handle multiple projects.
- Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit) required.
The salary range for this position to be filled in the Chicago, IL office is $67,346- $81,211 annually. This salary range is the range we believe is the anticipated range of possible base compensation at the timing of the posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the anticipated salary range for the position. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses. We offer a full benefit package including medical, dental and vision coverage and flexible spending account options and voluntary insurances. We have paid time off, flex-time schedules, remote work options and a 401k plan and employee perk programs.
