We are seeking an Engineer to design and maintain the platform, tools and processes that expand the adoption and benefits from data visualization, reporting and research. This role will focus on building best practices in Python and data access for notebooks, live dashboards, and dynamic visualizations. You will support the data visualization initiatives across trading and technology teams, overseeing cost, reliability, and removing obstacles to adoption.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building reporting applications, developing interactive dashboards and visualizations. They will have the technical skills to effectively leverage complex, massive datasets, and the experience of mastering complex, industry specific algorithms and business logic. This individual will support our firm's use of existing tools, including Looker, BigQuery, Plotly Dash and Jupyter Notebooks, while helping us discover and roll out new best of breed technologies.
What You'll Do
Design, develop, and maintain internal reporting applications and analytics solutions.
Develop scalable frameworks that enable technical traders, quants, and developers to conduct research and build visualizations in an efficient manner.
Optimize data access and query performance to support reporting and visualization workloads.
Partner directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand reporting needs, and deliver solutions that support decision-making.
Propose long term solutions that help us capture the momentum of commercial and open-source technologies in a way that aligns with companies emerging needs
Support and enhance the firm's business intelligence infrastructure, including Looker, Plotly Dash and related BI platforms.
Lead migration efforts across teams as we upgrade tools, libraries and data sources.
Stay current with emerging BI and data visualization technologies to drive continuous improvement.
What You'll Need
Strong Python development experience focused on data analytics, reporting, and visualization.
Experience building reporting applications and business intelligence solutions.
Proficiency with Jupyter Notebooks and visualization libraries such as Plotly.
Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries and working with relational databases.
Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
Ability to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders across technical and business teams.
Experience supporting or administering BI solutions across teams and user groups
Familiarity with data modeling, dashboard design, and reporting best practices.
Understanding of modern business intelligence and analytics trends.
Experience working in a collaborative, stakeholder-facing environment.
