Engineering Project Coordinator

Woodward’s Industrial Product Division in Fort Collins, Colorado is seeking an Engineering Project Coordinator. The Engineering Project Coordinator supports project and product execution by helping manage schedules, artifacts, deliverables, and cross-functional communication. This role coordinates hardware, software, and other product builds, supports project governance activities, and helps track project status, risks, and issues under the direction of the Project or Program Manager.

Estimated annual base pay: $56,000-$75,000

All members included in annual cash bonus opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Actions: Assist with projects. Facilitate project issues including with suppliers and customers.
  • Product Actions: Coordinate all product builds (i.e., Hardware, Software, etc.).
  • Project Artifacts: Manage and track project artifacts (schedule, budget, risks, etc.) at discretion of Project/Program Manager.
  • Project Governance: Participate in project meetings.
  • Project Life Cycle: Assist with gate and project deliverables.

  • Organization: Demonstrated ability to effectively manage schedules, tasks, and documentation to ensure project operations run smoothly. Keeps track of deadlines, deliverables, and dependencies across the project lifecycle. Organizes meetings, resources, and workflows efficiently.
  • Time Management: Supports the project manager in developing and maintaining schedules. Prioritizes tasks based on urgency and importance. Ensures deadlines are met and dependencies are managed effectively.
  • Communication: Facilitates clear and effective communication between team members, stakeholders, and project/program managers. Provides regular updates on project progress, issues, and milestones. Drafts reports, meeting minutes, and project documentation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicates stakeholder feedback to the project manager and team. Addresses stakeholder inquiries and concerns promptly (reactive). Assists in aligning stakeholder priorities with project deliverables.
  • Risk Management: Supports risk identification and mitigation efforts.
  • Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Identifies and resolves issues that arise during project execution. Escalates problems to the project manager while offering potential solutions. Supports risk identification and mitigation efforts.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepares project status reports, dashboards, and summaries for stakeholders. Maintains up-to-date records of project activities, budgets, and progress. Documents lessons learned and project outcomes for future reference.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Works closely with project managers, team members, and stakeholders to facilitate project execution. Fosters a collaborative environment where team members can contribute effectively. Coordinates cross-functional teams and ensures alignment on tasks and objectives.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Demonstrated ability to adjust schedules or plans in response to changes based on direction from the Project/Program Manager. Supports the team in adapting to new processes or tools. Remains calm and resourceful during unexpected challenges.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated competency in using project management tools like Planisware or Jira. Tracks project metrics and reporting progress to the project manager. Strong competency in using ERP and planning tools to track and manage parts required for project execution.

Successful Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to solve complex problems
