About the role

We are looking for an Executive Director, Corporate Development & Enterprise Strategy to help drive our transformational growth agenda. This will include developing market defining partnerships and M&A strategies, collaboration in strategy and M&A execution and developing near and long-range business strategy.  This role will drive market and product development as well as define new segments within the employee benefits ecosystem.

Key Accountabilities

  • Own and drive strategic analysis on existing and new products and businesses, including quant research and analysis, secondary/primary competitive research, synthesis, and making strategic recommendations

  • Build effective narratives that translate to a variety of audiences (e.g., executives, senior leaders, peers, third-party partners) to support alignment of key growth priorities, strategic recommendations, and M&A deal hypothesis

  • Develop business cases, including business model evaluation, build, borrow, buy analyses, market sizing, and investment requirements

  • Support, and/or own and drive aspects of M&A process/activities in support of growth strategy

  • Evaluate pipeline of innovations in employee benefits and start-ups for acquisition or partnership; seek and evaluate possible business, technology, and/or delivery partner relationships to support growth objectives

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors or master’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • 6+ years of relevant professional work experience (strategy consulting, M&A, and/or strategy development within an organization)

  • Demonstrated success analyzing internal/external partners

  • Relentless curiosity and possess a passion to learn new concepts and create innovative analyses to identify opportunities

  • Demonstrated strengths in and passion for extracting insights from data and converting ideas to action

  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing industry, tolerate ambiguity, and demonstrated disruptive thinking

  • Demonstrated problem-solving leadership with limited oversight

  • High degree of motivation to self-start, and go above and beyond the task at hand

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Highly collaborative team player able to lead and work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus

Preferred

  • Experience crafting strategies based on how consumers are engaging in the insurance journey (touching at least one of provider, payor, or external technology partner), to reveal how products/brands can better connect with their consumers

  • Strong technology and data analytics acumen

  • Strong executive presence

The compensation range for this role is (based on the corporate location in Lake Forest, Illinois):

$136,933 - $204,463 per year

The final salary offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonus. We understand that compensation is an important factor when considering a new opportunity, and we strive to provide a competitive salary within the market.
