Summary of action:

Our Welders play a key role in fabricating and repairing high-quality metal components used in commercial fencing projects. This position involves reading blueprints, cutting and welding steel or aluminum parts, and ensuring all fabricated components meet safety and quality standards. Ideal candidates will have strong technical welding skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.

Essential Functions:

  • Cut, weld, grind, and assemble metal components for fence panels, gates, and structural supports
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, specifications, and symbols
  • Prepare and tack parts and materials for final welds
  • Vertical, horizontal, uphill, overhead, and out-of-position welding
  • Use hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures to set up workpieces
  • Inspect and test welds to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area; perform daily equipment checks and basic maintenance
  • Identify and report any faulty equipment or defective materials to the supervisor
  • Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times
  • Assist with general yard or fabrication shop duties as needed

Reports to: Internal Operations Manager

Job Type: Full-Time

Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Compensation: Starts at $21.00/hour

  • Work Environment and physical demands: Work is performed in a fabrication shop and outdoors in varying weather conditions. The role involves exposure to welding fumes, loud noises, hot materials, and moving equipment. Safety protocols and PPE are required at all times.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
  • Must maintain regular attendance and exhibit positive and professional conduct.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to relate positively and favorably to customers and employees and to work cooperatively with others.
  • Must be self-motivated and able and willing to learn and acquire knowledge in the field on an ongoing basis. Must grow and develop as a professional through personal development, ongoing education, and on-the-job experiences. This includes learning to build gates, fences, and more.
  • Must be able to follow industry safety rules and adhere to company and contractor standards.
  • Ability to read maps, drawings, and diagrams to determine locations and directions for welding projects.
  • Must be capable of performing the Essential Functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Welding certification and/or schooling preferred but not required.
