The Boeing Company is seeking Flight Simulation Software Engineers (Experienced and Senior) to join our team in Daytona Beach, FL. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The roles will involve software development for tools and models within our simulation infrastructure in the Flight Simulation Labs organization.  Selected candidates will be aligned to a statement of work that best suits their interests and skillset, some of which could include:

  • Creating core simulation infrastructure to serve as a jumping-off point for programs developing flight simulation capabilities

  • Developing tools to simulate, monitor, and control digital messages between subsystems in a lab environment

  • support modeling of various aircraft capabilities, including the ability to run constructive scenarios in a testing environment for development of our products and to support training efforts.

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced and Senior Level Software Engineers.

This position might require frequent business travels (20% - 30%) to St. Louis, MO for the first 3 months of employment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems

  • Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system

  • Supports development of simulation environments to supporting testing performed by Mission Systems engineers

  • Works on an agile team in order to accomplish team goals

  • Executes and documents software research and development projects

  • Works under general direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. CitizenshipAbility to obtain Secret U.S. Security Clearance Post-Start.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Experience as a Software Engineer

  • 2+ years of professional experience programming in C++

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s, Master or Doctor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • Experienced Level: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • Senior Level: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience in the defense or avionics industry

  • Experience with requirements writing

  • Knowledge of basic networking principles

  • Experience working on an Agile team using Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira

  • Strong coordination and communication skills

  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment while supporting multiple concurrent activities

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range for Experienced Engineer: $114,750.00 - $155,250.00.

Summary pay range for Senior Engineer: $141,950.00 - $192,050.00.
