The Developer supports operations, modernization, and new software, web applications, and mobile applications. The Developer works on on-premises and Cloud technology stacks. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in web application development, with a strong focus on creating secure, scalable, and user-friendly solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in web application development, with a strong focus on creating secure, scalable, and user-friendly solutions. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful design, development, and deployment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide software development expertise and conduct design and code activities within a matrixed team environment.
- Participate in agile and hybrid agile methodologies.
- Create and execute unit tests and support system test activities through collaborative teamwork.
- Develop, test, and support web-based application (mobile/desktop), middleware, and services development using HTML5 and .NET.
- Perform database systems development and testing using MS SQL Server database.
- Design, architect, and integrate systems with internal and multiple external systems.
- Create supporting system and database documentation in accordance with CDC guidance.
- Implement web metrics tools and components to track user and site behavior.
- Develop with adherence to Section 508 requirements and guidelines.
- Support migration of code and data from on premises to the cloud, specifically Microsoft Azure.
- Seven (7) or more years of development experience.
- Five (5) or more years of development experience using Microsoft .NET/ASP.NET, Xamarin/.NET Maui, WPF, Microsoft Visual Studio, and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or higher.
- Working knowledge and project experience using C#, C++, JavaScript, Angular, React, HTML5, CSS, JSON, XML, and restful web services to create web and mobile applications.
- Familiarity with VMWare, Atlassian, Jira, Confluence, Docker, and/or Microsoft DevOps.
- Understanding of relational databases and modeling concepts.
- Development, refinement, and maintenance of services for integration with web/desktop/mobile applications.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving issues including security incidents.
- Project experience collaborating with Business Analysts to refine and translate requirements into solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with an interdisciplinary team.
- Experience working with the Centers for Disease Control environment and standards: SDLC, technical architecture, release processes.
- Experience with occupational safety applications (NIOSH).
Education & Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- $70,000-$90,000
- Salary commensurate with experience.
