Job Summary:
As the Generative AI Product Manager for Caterpillar's Rental and Used Equipment business, you will lead the development and integration of AI-powered capabilities that optimize equipment lifecycle, pricing strategies, and customer engagement. This role focuses on delivering intelligent, predictive, and context-aware solutions that enhance rental operations, streamline used equipment sales, and improve dealer and customer decision-making through advanced generative AI applications.
You will oversee day-to-day activities and cross-functional collaboration with rental operations, remarketing teams, and technology partners to design, test, and deploy GEN AI solutions that drive revenue growth, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This includes managing the product roadmap, aligning with enterprise AI governance, and ensuring seamless integration with Caterpillar's digital platforms and dealer systems.
What You Will Do:
Product Strategy & Roadmap
  • Define and evolve the GEN AI product vision for Rental and Used Equipment, aligned with Caterpillar's AI Assistant roadmap and enterprise transformation goals.
  • Drive prioritization of features such as dynamic pricing, predictive demand forecasting, automated valuation, and personalized customer recommendations.

Cross-functional Leadership
  • Collaborate with engineering, data science, rental operations, and remarketing teams to deliver scalable AI solutions with high reliability and compliance.
  • Partner with Cat Digital platform and Digital Product Management teams to ensure alignment with broader enterprise AI strategies.

Lifecycle Management
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of GEN AI solutions, from ideation and prototyping to testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with governance frameworks, security protocols, and production readiness standards.

Rental & Used Equipment Enablement
  • Champion user-centric design for dealer and customer-facing tools, enabling intuitive access to pricing insights, inventory optimization, and trade-in recommendations.
  • Support rental and used equipment teams through AI-driven guidance for fleet management and resale strategies.

Performance & Analytics
  • Monitor solution performance, usage patterns, and feedback to inform enhancements and ensure measurable impact on rental profitability and used equipment turnover.

Innovation & R&D
  • Lead proof-of-concept initiatives with internal teams and external partners to explore new GEN AI capabilities for rental and remarketing optimization.

  • Effective Communications: Translate complex AI concepts into actionable insights for stakeholders across engineering, product, and rental operations.
  • Software Change Request Management: Manage change requests for AI configurations, model updates, and deployment protocols.
  • Software Engineering: Lead development of AI solutions using modular architectures, ensuring flexibility in LLM selection and minimizing hallucinations.
  • Software Product Business Knowledge: Understand the business impact of AI features on rental profitability, used equipment sales, and customer satisfaction.
  • Software Product Management: Navigate ambiguity in emerging AI technologies, balancing innovation with operational feasibility and compliance.
  • Software Product Technical Knowledge: Deep familiarity with integration into Caterpillar's rental platforms, dealer systems, and digital ecosystem.
  • Marketing Strategy and Positioning: Position AI-driven rental and remarketing capabilities as transformative tools in Caterpillar's portfolio, supporting growth and customer loyalty.

  • Proficiency in equipment lifecycle management systems for rental and remarketing operations
  • Strong knowledge of AI-driven pricing models and dynamic rate optimization for rental fleets
  • Experience with predictive analytics for demand forecasting and inventory utilization
  • Understanding of financial risk models for used equipment valuation and trade-in programs
  • Knowledge of telematics data utilization for fleet health monitoring and rental scheduling
  • Skills in cybersecurity for transactional systems, including encryption and authentication protocols
  • Experience with Agile methodology and managing product backlogs for AI-enabled solutions
  • Ability to design intuitive dealer and customer-facing interfaces for rental and resale workflows
  • Familiarity with dealer management systems and integration with Caterpillar's digital platforms preferred

Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $204,720.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
