At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.  

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

GoDaddy is not currently considering candidates for this role in California, Seattle, or NYC.

As Global Indirect Tax Manager, you will play a critical role in handling and delivering GoDaddy’s worldwide indirect tax obligations. Reporting to the Director – Global Indirect Tax, this role is responsible for day‑to‑day management of indirect tax compliance, audit readiness, technology enablement, and cross‑functional advisory across Sales and Use Tax, VAT/GST, Digital Services taxes, and other similar transaction‑based taxes.

This role partners closely with Accounting, Legal, Product, Payments, Procurement, and external advisors to ensure GoDaddy remains compliant while supporting business growth, new product launches, and system transformations. The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth with a practical, business‑oriented approach and a passion for process improvement and automation.

What you'll get to do...

Global Indirect Tax Compliance & Operations

  • Manage global indirect tax compliance across U.S. sales & use tax, VAT/GST, and other transaction‑based taxes, including coordination with co‑sourced vendors including return approvals, reconciliation reviews and completing payments.
  • Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes related to indirect taxes, including account reconciliations and accruals, budgeting and SOX reporting.
  • Oversee exemption certificate management, taxability mappings, and transaction reviews for GoDaddy’s digital products and services.
  • Lead and support indirect tax audits and tax authority inquiries globally, including data requests, position support, and remediation efforts.
  • Partner with Product, Finance, Legal, and Commercial teams to advise on indirect tax implications of new products, pricing models, market expansions, and critical initiatives.

Process Improvement & Tax Technology

  • Identify and drive continuous improvement of indirect tax processes, controls, and documentation with automation and using AI and other similar agentic tools. 
  • Partner with Tax Technology, Accounting, and IT to optimize Indirect Tax via tax engines, ERP systems, and reporting tools. Drive GoDaddy’s readiness for Global E-invoicing and real-time reporting compliance.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with external advisors and compliance providers to ensure service quality and cost efficiency.
  • Prepare clear, concise updates and analysis for tax leadership and finance partners.
  • Contribute to internal training and knowledge sharing on indirect tax topics.

Your experience should include...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of relevant indirect tax experience in a multinational corporation and/or public accounting environment.
  • Strong technical expertise in U.S. sales and use tax, international VAT/GST, and Digital Services Taxes, particularly within the technology and digital services sectors.
  • Shown experience handling tax audits, tax authority correspondence, and third‑party compliance providers.
  • Hands‑on experience configuring, mapping, and troubleshooting indirect tax determination tools such as Vertex (or similar) and global ERP systems such as Workday.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Compensation: 

The estimated pay ranges for this role are listed below. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation, which may include a corporate bonus and/or equity awards, subject to the terms of applicable plans and individual eligibility.

$123,500$185,500 USD
Austin, D.C. Metro, CA (non-Bay Area), HI, IL, MA, NH, OR, VA, WA:
$107,000$160,000 USD
New York City Metro, Kirkland/Seattle:
$113,200$169,800 USD

$95,000$143,000 USD
