Position Summary

Effectual's Healthcare & Life Sciences Growth Executives (GEs) are members of the Sales team responsible for building and executing a strategy to sell managed and professional services to enterprise healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device organizations through Effectual's partnership with Amazon Web Services. The HCLS Growth Executive drives partner strategy, sales strategy, relationship building, relationship management, solution assessment, RFPs, and account management for all pipeline created through and by the Healthcare & Life Sciences vertical. This role requires a working understanding of the industry's regulatory and compliance landscape, including HIPAA, HITRUST, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and GxP, and the ability to position AWS-based solutions that address priorities such as protecting patient data, modernizing clinical and research workloads, and accelerating time to insight. The HCLS Growth Executive works closely with AWS Healthcare & Life Sciences account teams and reports to the VP of Partner Sales.

A Glimpse into the Daily Routine of an AWS Growth Executive

Your morning usually starts on the AWS side of the house — a note to your closest AWS relationships, a check of emails and slacks for opportunities AWS may have shared, the occasional introduction between an AWS Solutions Architect deep in a technical discovery and one of our practice leads to assess fit for a new GTM. Midday belongs to customers: discovery on a data centre exit, whiteboarding a modernization path with an AWS Account Managers or Executives and customer CTO, deciding what gets qualified in and what gets qualified out. Afternoons turn commercial — scoping with estimating, structuring AWS funding with the Effectual Alliance team, moving an MSA through legal, negotiating terms. Nobody inherits the deal from you halfway through – you run the cycle end to end.

A protected part of every week is reserved for creating pipeline that did not exist before: whitespace work in your vertical, account mapping with AWS teams, outbound where the relationship has not yet produced pipeline and asking the tough questions as to why. The cadence around you is light: a bi-weekly pipeline review, a bi-weekly all hands, and a monthly look at which AWS relationships are actually producing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Sell the entire Effectual Services Portfolio of Professional and Managed Cloud Services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key AWS contacts and stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain relationships with prospective and existing HCLS customers.
  • Develop and execute a strategic partner sales plan for assigned target market to achieve quarterly and annual sales quota.
  • Secure and attend meetings with prospective customers to gain information about their needs and current environment, develop sales messaging and conduct client presentations to C-level executives, and qualify opportunities.
  • Work with the Solution Architect team to develop compelling and competitive proposals and SOWs.
  • Stay up to date with new product knowledge, technology, services, and industry developments.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Existing AWS Realtionships within desireable industries and with key influencers
  • Minimum 7–10 years of industry experience or technology sales at the Enterprise Customer Base.
  • Experience with solution sales cycles with various product offerings required.
  • Ability to conduct discovery/needs analysis with prospective customers and develop a successful action plan.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills in both written and verbal communications; poised in communicating with customers, partners, consultants, and internal team members.
  • Proven track record of exceeding quarterly and yearly sales goals.
  • Able to leverage previous Enterprise and Partner Community relationships.
  • AWS certifications (e.g.: Cloud Practitioner).
  • Familiarity with Salesforce for Customer Relationship Management.
  • Experience selling Public Cloud IT Services specifically.
