Role Overview

As a Growth Marketing Manager at OpenGov, you're a full-stack marketer—owning the complete go-to-market lifecycle for products, features, and campaigns. You'll develop positioning and messaging, craft integrated demand gen programs, build enablement collateral, execute launches, and measure impact. From strategy through execution, you'll combine storytelling and data to drive pipeline and establish OpenGov as the AI and ERP leader for state and local governments.

You'll partner across the marketing team, working with design, brand, and ops colleagues while owning outcomes end-to-end. This is a hands-on role where you shape GTM strategy, create compelling content, launch campaigns, and continuously optimize for results. You bring both strategic vision and tactical execution chops.

What You'll Do

Campaign Strategy & Execution

  • Build and launch integrated multi-channel campaigns (email, paid, webinars, social, events, content syndication) to drive qualified pipeline for targeted personas and accounts. Own performance tracking, reporting, and optimization based on results.

  • Create compelling marketing content—emails, landing pages, ads, ebooks, customer stories, blogs—leveraging AI tools daily to scale production and test variations at speed.

  • Develop GTM messaging and positioning informed by customer insights, Gong calls, sales feedback, and competitive intelligence. Create talk tracks, enablement decks, and messaging guides that translate complex capabilities into clear value statements.

  • Define market segmentation, personas, and ICP insights that inform campaign targeting and messaging across all programs.

  • Support ABM campaigns and nurture strategies using Marketo and Salesforce to engage prospects across the funnel.

  • Stay plugged into government, market, and competitive trends to identify campaign opportunities and inform GTM strategy and decision-making.

Product Launches & Enablement

  • Lead end-to-end launch plans for new products and features—defining objectives, audience, messaging, tactics, timeline, and success metrics.

  • Develop comprehensive enablement materials (pitch decks, one-pagers, battlecards, FAQs) to equip sales, customer success, and support teams on new capabilities.

  • Coordinate internal comms, customer announcements, and field readiness to drive product adoption.

Performance & Optimization

  • Own campaign measurement and reporting—tracking pipeline contribution, engagement rates, conversion metrics, and ROI.

  • Analyze campaign performance, identify learnings, and translate insights into optimization recommendations.

  • Stay plugged into competitive, industry, and government trends; use insights to shape timely, relevant campaigns.

What We're Looking For

Core Experience

  • 8+ years of B2B or B2G marketing experience, ideally in SaaS or high-growth environments.

  • Proven track record developing and executing multi-channel campaigns that drove measurable pipeline results.

  • Strong writing and editing skills; provide examples of campaign copy, content, or messaging that moved the needle.

  • Experience with or demonstrated ability to own product positioning, GTM strategy, launches, or messaging development.

  • Hands-on proficiency with Marketo, Salesforce, and marketing automation; comfort with analytics and translating data into insights.

Mindset & Attributes

  • AI-forward thinker: Comfortable using AI tools (Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, etc.) daily to augment your work—scaling content creation, analysis, and decision-making.

  • Analytical and strategic; able to synthesize customer insights, competitive intelligence, and market trends into clear, compelling narratives.

  • Roll-up-your-sleeves operator; comfortable owning everything from strategy to execution across campaigns, content, and launches.

  • Collaborative and adaptable; energized by cross-functional work, fast iteration, and ambiguity.

  • Data-driven; demonstrate ability to measure, learn, and optimize based on results.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in or passion for public sector, government, or B2G marketing.

  • Hands-on experience with ABM tools, Guru, Aha, or Pendo.

  • Background with win/loss analysis, competitive intelligence, or voice-of-customer research.

  • Experience launching products or features end-to-end.

Compensation

Chicago, IL: $110,000 - $140,000

On target ranges above include base plus a portion of variable compensation that is earned based on company and individual performance.

The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.
