Client currently seeks a Hadoop SOLR Developer in Bloomington, Illinois.
Qualifications:
Client is seeking a Hadoop Developer build SOLR components to support Customer Traceability Searching. Preferred candidates will have previous practical work experience in a dynamic work environment and have experience supporting the infrastructure needs of enterprise software development efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Guide business partners/projects on the use of Hadoop for efforts ranging from proof-of-concepts to more-formal implementation efforts
- Develop, follow, and/or implement infrastructure policies, strategies, guidelines, standards, and procedures
- Interface with business partners to drive out requirements
- Research, evaluate, design, develop, or recommend integrated technical solutions
Required Skills and Experience
- Complete fluency in Java
- At least 2 years experience in Map/Reduce technologies and ability to write sequence (chaining) of Map/Reduce jobs to solve a problem
- At least 2 years experience in one or more of Hadoop, HBase, Cassandra, or Dynamo.
- Ability to design columnar data stores
- Experience with implementation of content recommendation engine

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and enable/train other analysts
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment on moderate to highly complex issues
High technical aptitude and demonstrated progression of technical skills - continuous improvement
Experience with Cloud based computing infrastructure and tools
