Our North American practices work with healthy, under-performing, and distressed companies across a variety of urgent, high impact situations – ‘when it really matters’.
Success in this role requires the ability to develop and deliver a comprehensive marketing strategy that delivers long-term brand awareness, alongside nearer term commercial returns.
The role oversees a team of 12+ experienced marketers and a significant marketing budget.

Reporting to the global CMO, you will:
- Lead a team of Marketing and Communications professionals across the NA region.
- Work with the NA leadership, Corporate Marketing, and NA industry and service lines (ISLs) to develop and implement business plans, budget proposals and campaign plans (gaining their buy-in) that are aligned with the Global Brand thematics and NA market positioning needs.
- Position the firm clearly against competitors through differentiated messaging, thought leadership and campaigns.
- Work closely with the NA Commercial Program Transformation Leader to ensure the BD&M strategy is aligned with NA and relevant ISL commercial objectives and understood and implemented across the Region.
- Set the media relations agenda and priorities for ISL-driven campaigns across North America.
- Influence senior partners and practice leaders, challenge thinking, and drive prioritization and focus.
- With the NA Commercial Program Transformation Leader, implement seamless BD&M commercial processes across NA Business Marketing, the Business Intelligence Centre and the commercial teams embedded in the practices.
- Assume overall responsibility for all aspects of marketing and communications planning, execution and budgeting with clear and specific objectives (brand building, channel development and activation, differentiation, relationship building, lead generation).
- Partner closely with the Head of BD&M, EMEA to align on strategy and best practice to ensure a globally consistent offering to our ISL’s and Practices.
- Install a rigorous assessment of Return on Investment (ROI) approach to all significant marketing investments in North America.
- Partner with our Business Intelligence Centre to leverage modern research technology to track trends and developments across all industries and priority clients to identify potential marketing, account and sales opportunities.
- Govern and promote collaborative strategic planning, review and cross-selling across the matrix.
- Oversee the development of integrated and targeted campaigns that will lead directly to revenue generating opportunities, including all aspects of content development, marketing and communications, outreach targeting and follow-up and event management.
- With the NA Commercial Program Transformation Leader act as the overall CRM champion in NA to drive effective participation in strategic relationship and account management.
- Promote our core values in all business development and marketing activities.

What you’ll need.
- Minimum fifteen (15) years of business experience or equivalent with, ideally, a minimum of ten (10) years of related experience in a market-leading professional services/consulting environment.
- Bachelor’s degree with Master’s degree and/or certification in related specialty area(s) preferred
- Ability to operate at strategic and operational level; attention to detail
- High energy style, flexible and adaptive, with the ability to work well in a very fast paced environment with little consistent oversight but a high responsiveness to an internal client base of very busy people.
- Ability to anticipate the Practice leadership needs and tend to the pipeline management, at times without significant oversight.
- Views problems from the ‘big picture POV’, recognizing critical areas to drive into more detail. Quickly structures approaches to solve complex problems. Balanced and flexible, anticipate and change direction as necessary.
- Creativity in the development of new Marketing channels, tools, methodologies, and approaches.
- Strong EQ and proven ability to influence, change behavior and navigate effectively in a complex culture; can build consensus
- Articulate, persuasive, communication skills; comfort with impromptu communication under pressure. Ability to engender Practice leader confidence, respect and trust.
- Real people management skills; track record of developing and retaining high performance talent in a professional services M&BD function
- Openness to significant potential travel during some periods, but primarily a remote/office-based role. Willingness to work outside of normal NA business hours.
- Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday

The salary range for this role takes into account a number of factors and is between $270,000/year - $370,000/year with potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
