Role Overview

Aeris is hiring a Head of Network Quality to build and own a new function responsible for network quality governance, test lab operations, and automated validation across our IP/Cellular network supporting more than 100M devices worldwide. This leader will establish standardized quality frameworks, embed quality controls into engineering and change processes, and leverage AI-driven automation to reduce outages and protect SLAs.

This is an opportunity to shape how quality is engineered into a global cellular network from the ground up. You’ll define the systems, standards, and automation capabilities that improve network stability and release confidence while partnering across Engineering, Operations, Architecture, and Quality teams. Based in Chicago or Bucharest, this role reports to Claudio Taglienti and offers direct visibility into senior engineering leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Network Quality Governance
  • Own and drive Network Quality governance, standards, and measurable quality outcomes across network changes and releases.
  • Establish quality metrics and reporting to measure validation effectiveness, compliance, automation coverage, and customer-impacting issues.
  • Embed quality controls into engineering and change management processes across the organization.

Test Lab & Validation Frameworks

  • Build and lead a managed Network Test Lab supporting consistent pre-production validation.
  • Develop validation workflows and scalable regression testing capabilities across the Aeris network environment.
  • Create structured, repeatable approaches to validating network designs and changes before production deployment.

Automation & AI Enablement

  • Develop automated validation and regression testing capabilities that reduce reliance on manual testing.
  • Leverage AI and agentic automation approaches to improve regression testing and engineer compliance validation.
  • Identify opportunities to automate operational quality processes with measurable business impact.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner across Network Engineering, Operations, Architecture, and Quality teams to improve network reliability and operational consistency.
  • Guide technical decision-making around network quality standards, feasibility, and implementation priorities.
  • Lead and grow a small technical quality team while helping establish the long-term roadmap for the function.

Qualifications

  • Deep telecom networking knowledge including 4G/5G, IP routing, security (firewall/VPN/NAT), and cellular network architecture.
  • Demonstrated ability to write or build code to solve problems, including use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code.
  • Hands-on experience with agentic AI and automation, including building automation solutions with clear operational rationale.
  • Technical leadership capability with the ability to guide engineering decisions and define technical feasibility.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills with the ability to work across multiple business units and stakeholder groups.

Aeris is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, religion, national origin, marital status, age, disability, veteran status, genetic information, or any other protected status.
