Your Opportunity

Scion is seeking a motivated Human Resources Intern to support a variety of HR functions, including pre-hire and onboarding activities, payroll and HRIS data support, compliance documentation, company policies, and employee engagement initiatives. The HR Intern is a detail-oriented, organized individual eager to learn in a fast-paced, corporate environment. This role requires professionalism, discretion, and a strong customer-service mindset. The position may also involve general administrative and clerical support to assist with day-to-day office operations and HR projects. This is an in-office, temporary internship opportunity based at our Chicago headquarters and is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in human resources.

Your Responsibilities

  • Assist with pre-hire and onboarding activities across the portfolio, gaining exposure to the full hiring lifecycle.
  • Support the preparation of offer letters, background checks, and drug screen scheduling; help track progress and communicate updates to hiring managers under supervision.
  • Serve as a first-line support resource by directing corporate and property staff HR questions to the appropriate team members.
  • Learn and develop a working knowledge of UKG Pro, Greenhouse Recruiting, and Greenhouse Onboarding, by assisting with new hire onboarding, benefits administration, and employee data changes.
  • Gain foundational knowledge of employment laws and HR & TA compliance through training, shadowing, and guided application in daily tasks.
  • Help update and maintain staffing changes in UKG Pro and internal HR & TA tracking tools, ensuring accurate records and timely communication.
  • Build interpersonal and professional communication skills while collaborating with team members and supporting HR initiatives.
  • Coordinate with multiple departments to help resolve employee-related questions and support positive workplace operations.
  • Assist with maintaining electronic personnel files to support organization and compliance standards.
  • Support the handling, tracking, and follow‑up of HR & TA mail and correspondence.
  • Help compile and update reports related to HR & TA activity and ongoing projects.
  • Contribute ideas and observe best practices related to HR & TA processes, policies, training, and operational efficiencies.
  • Develop strong working relationships across departments while learning how HR & TA partners with the broader organization.

What We Require

  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite
  • Maintains discretion and confidentiality with sensitive business and personal information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Operational Details

  • Working hours consist of standard daytime business hours.
  • Position is located on-site 5 days a week at our corporate office in Chicago. 
  • This is a intern position with an expected employment term of 4-8 weeks. 

* This is a paid internship, pay rate is $25/hr. 

The base salary range for this full-time position is base + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
