What You'll Bring
The VP, Head of Total Rewards develops, executes and implements the company’s global compensation and benefits strategy and programs, ensuring that programs are competitive and aligned with TransUnion’s overall goals. This position reports to the Chief People Officer of Human Resources and regularly consults with key business leaders and the Board of Directors for executive compensation.
This role includes the oversight of employee total rewards and benefits programs including, but not limited to: performance based compensation programs, job evaluation, merit and other salary increases, short and long term incentive plans, equity plans, and recognition programs. This individual will ensure we are market competitive, fair, and in compliance with legislative requirements.
12+ years of progressive and specialized experience in a technology, data provider, or financial services company. Ideally, this experience will include a meaningful role in a public organization.
Bachelor’s degree required; an MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
Track record of progressive responsibility managing the compensation function in an international, complex and matrixed organization.
Experience working directly with a Compensation Committee of a global, publicly traded company.
Experience with complex executive compensation negotiations and package development and administration.
Excellent knowledge of current trends and practices relating to broad based and executive compensation.
Experience in Executive Compensation, including responsibility for preparing materials for the Compensation Committee of a Board of Directors and preparing materials for the CD&A section of the proxy.
Ability to build rapport with internal customers and effectively work with CFO, Compensation Committee, Legal, and Finance.
Exposure to, and management of, stock/equity administration outside of north America is a plus.
Assertive and effective communicator, able to build meaningful rapport with key stakeholders and asks the right questions to further dialogue. Able to work well in a matrix environment. An excellent collaborator.
Lead through influence and personal relationship building.
Demonstrated strategic, management, analytical, and organizational skills.
Excellent analytical, statistical and financial modeling skills, high level of expertise in using Excel.
Impact You'll Make
Leads Compensation function including: executive compensation, annual compensation review process, merit, job evaluations, bonus plans, equity incentives, sales commissions, annual benchmarking and employee recognition programs.
Monitor external best practices and governance standards and propose policy or plan design changes as appropriate; ensure compliance with applicable federal and state legislative requirements governing executive compensation.
Work closely with senior leadership, Compensation Committee and Employee Benefits Committees to define and establish overall compensation and benefits philosophies.
Prepare and analyze materials for Compensation Committee meetings.
Prepares Compensation Design and Analysis for the annual proxy statement.
Directs the design and administration of all compensation and benefits programs and policies including job evaluation, salary administration, short-term incentive programs, balance retirement plan, 401(k) plans, and health and welfare programs. Oversees company’s wellness program.
Provides support to the financial and legal areas regarding compensation related matters such as SEC filings for executive compensation and the financials to ensure the proper accounting.
Provide consultative expertise, advice and guidance regarding compensation to executives, managers, and human resources.
In partnership with the HR Business Partners, monitor and analyze trends and issues related to compensation programs within the Company.
Provide guidance and assistance with expatriate and international compensation design and compliance.
