HR Benefits Coordinator

We are looking for an HR Benefits Coordinator to join our People Operations team. This person will be providing administrative support to the function as needed, including maintaining our benefits administration and leave management processes as well as providing general HR support and guidance to our entire employee population.
What You'll Do:
- Provide basic support for employee benefits questions, such as inquiries surrounding the administration of benefit/payroll policies and procedures, and appropriately escalate high-level questions to Benefits Specialist or Payroll Manager
- Support and coordinate the Onboarding, Offboarding, and Leave Management processes of Tempus employees, including tasks such as:
- Provide new hires with explanation of benefits and self-enrollment process during semi-monthly new hire orientation classes
- Process enrollments accurately in HRIS
- Process and document various leave requests (parental, FMLA-eligible, and non FMLA-eligible leaves)
- Work closely with internal team to conduct audits of payroll deductions, recommend corrective action when necessary, and advise on payment of approved Short Term Disability (STD)
- Ensure distribution of required COBRA notices
- Manage EDI file feeds with insurance providers and resolve discrepancies when necessary
- Complete various benefits reporting requirements
- Assist HR Specialist in conducting thorough analysis of current benefits during renewal process
- Assist HR Specialist in planning, scheduling, and promoting various wellness offerings
- Develop and implement new processes and systems for efficient benefits administration
- Identify and recommend new opportunities where HR can add value to the business and organizational culture
- Maintain a knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trends
- Assess employee engagement on an ongoing basis
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field required
- Interest in pursuing a career path in HR operations
- High-level knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws (FMLA, STD, COBRA, etc.)
- Ability to handle highly confidential data with integrity and professionalism
- Ability to work with diverse, creative, professional people in a fast-paced and high growth environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills to simultaneously manage projects and daily administrative tasks
- Self-motivated; able to drive and own initiatives
- Exhibits a customer service focused attitude and approach
- Highly adaptable and flexible; able to navigate competing priorities
