What will your day look like?
You will be responsible for partnering with internal business partners in providing consultative guidance and support in the areas of talent management, benefits, employee recognition, employee relations, compensation, talent acquisition and HRIS data management. In collaboration with the Sr. Manager, People Partner, the Human Capital Manager will assist in the development and maintenance of personnel policies and procedures. Resources to do the job require reliance on comprehensive knowledge of employment law and current best practices in the areas of talent management and HRIS systems. General direction is received from the Sr. Manager, People Partner.
Responsibilities

Employee Relations and Engagement:
- Provides consultative advice and counsel to employees on policy issues.
- Acts as the first level of support for employee relations issues and concerns, handling attendance and performance issues through consultation with leaders on established corrective action and performance improvement procedures. Triages more complex or broader issues to the appropriate Sr. Manager People Partner for resolution. Also assists with investigations as needed.
- Conducts employee exit interviews and new hire reviews, and relays feedback as necessary to the business.
Performance Management:
- Provides counsel to leaders regarding employee performance.
- Works with leaders to understand and complete the performance management process focusing on SMART goals, competency awareness, individual development plans and ongoing dialogues with feedback and coaching.
Talent Management:
- Consults with the talent acquisition team to provide support during high volume hiring periods.
- Collaborates with departmental leaders to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Interviews and sources candidates for open positions as needed.
- Provides support throughout the annual talent review process.
Benefits:
- Supports (or acts as a backup) full benefits administration process, annual open enrollment, and wellness programs.
- Supports FMLA and Disability leave administration to include monitoring and approval process.
- Identifies and administers new initiatives for benefit and wellness programs to allow for continual improvements in the employee value proposition.
- Seeks opportunities to automate and enhance operations to be more efficient while keeping employee experience as top priority.
- Assists in 401k plan administration, including annual audits, and related tasks to maintain plan compliance.
Compensation and Payroll Administration
- Acts as a liaison (or backup) to the Finance Team for payroll related inquiries and reporting requests.
- Trains leaders of others (or act as a backup) on timekeeping and payroll related compliance matters.
- Supports competitive market-based compensation system including job description matching for salary surveys and results analysis.
- Researches market pricing for newly created positions by utilizing third party online resources.
HR Information System Administration:
- Ensures quality and consistency of HRIS database information.
- Performs independent audit reviews and compiles employee reports as needed.
Projects:
- Participates in special projects and/or assignments representing the Human Capital Group.
- Provides reporting and analytics on HR trends in turnover, mobility, diversity and talent acquisition.
Qualifications
What makes you a great fit?
You’ll be a great fit if in addition to the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, required, and you have:
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a Generalist type role; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- PHR certification preferred.
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of employment laws and regulations.
- Experienced in handling confidential information.
- Excellent customer service, organization, and follow-up skills.
- Strong conflict management and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency with UltiPro, or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS.
