What You Will Be Doing
Reporting to the EVP, People, the Manager, Talent & Engagement will lead the design, development, and execution of talent enablement programs and processes, from onboarding to performance feedback to career pathways to succession planning. This role will partner with the Elevate K-12 Operations and People teams to focus on solutions that build team skills and competencies and will scale to meet the company's growing talent needs.

The Manager, Talent & Engagement will have three key areas of focus:
- Implementing talent processes that accelerate performance and drive accountability
- Developing programs to build workforce competency and engagement in our fast-paced, collaborative, high-growth culture
- Thinking about longer-term strategies while rolling up their sleeves to execute the details.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an approach for real-time and periodic goal setting and performance feedback processes, including technology and metrics
- Evaluate and recommend individual and team assessments
- Build and manage a simple but sufficient competency model for the business by creating progressive competencies at each primary level and defining potential for next level roles
- Continuously improve talent management tools and resources for leaders
- Evaluate and strengthen employee onboarding processes to build new employee alignment with and understanding of company mission, values, and culture
- Work with the People & Culture team to create innovative initiatives to drive employee engagement and retention
- Develop and roll out a structured approach to address talent gaps including talent assessments, career paths, organizational learning strategies and succession planning
- Build an engagement survey process, model and cadence including communication, technology and action planning
- Work with Operations Talent Development leader to strategize, design and deliver appropriate employee and leadership development programs
- Lead other important projects as they emerge!
Who You Are
- 5-7 years combined talent management and/or HR experience
- Demonstrated ability to operate at pace as part of a small team in a high-growth startup environment
- Comfortable with change – effective and successful change agent
- Experience configuring and using HR and talent technology
- Strong project management skills and analytical skills, and an understanding of effective use of metrics
- Experience designing and implementing talent, engagement, and employee/leadership development programs
- Accountable self-starter with strong organization skills, detail orientation, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in business, HR or related discipline
- Natural collaborator and builder of relationships
- Strong group communication skills
