Senior Manager, Compensation
The Role
The Senior Manager, Compensation is a critical role on Green Thumb’s Total Rewards team. This individual brings a strong background in public company compensation strategy and execution. The role will support the People team and entire employee population as we continue to grow and evolve. You will learn new systems, establish SOPs, lead ongoing communication and education initiatives, interact directly with employees at all levels, all while executing day-to-day tasks with a high level of accuracy for both our hourly and salaried population. This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned compensation manager to join a well-positioned US cannabis company through its next phase of growth.
Responsibilities
- Leads the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, policies, and procedures
- Ensure that programs are aligned with company's goals and competitive practices; proactively recommends changes that are cost-effective
- Responsible for ensuring programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and government regulations
- Help support the annual compensation review process
- Communicate our Total Rewards opportunity to managers and employees through training and ongoing education
- Manages common compensation functions, including survey participation and job evaluation
- Help establish strategies for hourly and salaried workforce as we continue to evolve
- Thought partner for incentive compensation strategy, communication, implementation, administration and governance
- Assistance with long-term Incentive administration, education and strategy
- Assistance with creation of meeting materials for Compensation Committee of Board of Directors
- Partner with HR peers within Production, Retail and Shared Services and Talent Acquisition to help implement initiatives. Gain insight and feedback for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related discipline with significant experience in Compensation
- Minimum 8 years of previous experience in Compensation/Total Rewards with increasing scope of responsibility
- Experience supporting multiple business units and functions
- Experience supporting a large hourly workforce
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data
- Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with a union population preferred
- Experience with M&A strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic priorities with tactical responsibilities
- Ability to support senior leaders when appropriate
- Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement

- Must possess valid driver’s license
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry
