Vice President, Organization & Talent Acquisition
The Role
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this leader brings a strong background and interest in joining the HR leadership team of our high-growth, public company. Our company has a capable and diverse team of employees across our manufacturing, retail, and corporate groups who have joined us through organic growth and acquisition. The VP, Organization & Talent Development role will champion the company’s efforts to attract, develop, and retain Green Thumb talent. This position will champion our brand, mission, and cultural values; develop compelling market positioning; bring innovative and optimal recruiting technology solutions; define and communicate our recruiting process; and measure and continuously improve our success in hiring quality, speed, and candidate experience. This role brings the opportunity to design and develop the national talent acquisition strategy to include best-in-class candidate experience strategies, executive talent acquisition, employment branding, and talent acquisition programs to improve recruitment strategy and improve candidate and hiring manager experience while leading the business to success. This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned talent acquisition leader to create and execute an innovative and successful recruiting program to support a well-positioned US cannabis company through its next phase of growth.
Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and communicate an optimal talent acquisition strategy and process to meet our growth needs
- Build a strong relationship with HR Business Partners and Green Thumb leaders in all of our business units to ensure we identify workforce needs and proactively plan recruitment strategy based on data, trends and the market.
- Ensure our recruiting process, status, and priorities are well communicated and understood by the leadership, and our goals are tracked and achieved in terms of quality, time, budget
- Partner with human resources teams and business leaders to develop and implement employee engagement strategies, mentoring programs, training curriculums, succession planning, and more.
- Strong business acumen and proven ability to integrate HR and business strategies: understanding of business/financial metrics and experience with managing the challenges associated with selected business partnerships, mergers/acquisitions, and organizational restructuring
- Processes & Systems: You will play a critical role in setting the standards and protocols for Green Thumb’s company recruitment process. Additionally, you will propose and implement ongoing improvements to all recruitment efforts, including but not limited to, systems, processes, reporting and metrics to support recruiting, sourcing and retention strategies.
- Team Management: Build, lead, and coach a growing yet lean team of exceptional talent acquisition professionals. Recruit for positions and leverage external resources for optimal alignment of our resourcing
- Employer Branding & Networking: Partner with our Communications team to promote our brand, mission, and values through our recruiting process and collateral. Develop innovative sourcing strategies to find highly capable candidates, leverage our Greenhouse ATS and vendors, and build talent pipelines
- Champion Culture & Diversity: We are building a new industry where glass ceilings and ivory towers are a thing of the past. From the steps in the hiring process, content of the job descriptions, training for hiring managers and forming of interview panels, you will raise the bar in our selection of diverse and qualified candidates into the organization.
- Measure and review outcomes and develop insights to improve our process, team productivity and development, candidate experience, and overall recruiting process
- Drive a culture of compliance and ensure compliance requirements are met
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s preferred.
- 10+ years recruiting leadership experience with market-leading companies. Preference for a combination of experience in public companies, high-growth organizations, and retained search. Experience with exempt/non-exempt employees required.
- A dynamic recruiting leader well-networked in relevant and or multi-industry contexts– e.g., CPG or pharmaceutical or similar manufacturing environment, retail, technology
- Passionate about talent acquisition and generating a diverse, capable, smart, engaged workforce
- Leads a fast-paced function to drive the business forward
- Proficient in ATS systems and reporting status and outcomes
- Experience with mergers/acquisitions and organizational restructuring
- Excellent writing skills – can package ideas simply and persuasively
- Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's jobs, qualifications, and compensation
- Enjoys spending time at sites/stores and engaging and building relationships with teams and employees
- Thrives at relationship building with exceptional communication and influencing skills
- Strong business acumen and judgment. Able to assess trends from data in a convincing and direct way for better decisions
