The Industrial Automation Specialist provides sales support for automation products, conducts customer presentations, and addresses technical inquiries while maintaining relationships with sales teams and vendors.
As an Industrial Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for providing pre- or post-sales support to assist the Sales team in their sales efforts of industrial automation products, systems and services. You will use its product knowledge to deliver presentations and product demonstrations to customers and sales representatives and will have a continuing role in customer support to address questions or issues in the usage of the products.
Responsibilities:
- Provides technical services to clients relating to industrial automation products.
- Makes sales calls, research customer needs and provides product and application information; demonstrating technology solutions for customers.
- Gathers, analyzes and shares technical information and solutions to internal and external customers.
- Provides pre/post automation sales support for sales teams and customers.
- Develops expertise in industrial automation product groups and shares that knowledge as needed.
- Participates in joint sales calls with customers and prospects.
- Participates in ongoing training to maintain technical competency in product and complementary product areas.
- Understands market conditions and competitive forces.
- Participates in marketing, promotion programs, and product launches from product businesses.
- Maintains excellent relationships with vendor product managers and other selling resources
Qualifications:
- High School Degree or Equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 2+ years technical background and/or experience.
- Strong computer skills.
- Communication and presentation skills
- 1 year preferred automation sales.
- 2 years preferred technical experience using automation products.
