Position Overview

The Integration Support Engineer is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing integration processes that enable seamless data exchange between internal systems, external partners, and enterprise applications. This role requires strong technical expertise in EDI, APIs, and data transformation, with a focus on troubleshooting, analysis, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate excels in identifying and resolving integration issues quickly, ensuring data accuracy and reliability across all connected systems.


Key Responsibilities


Integration Support & Technical Execution

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve integration issues involving EDI, APIs, flat files, and other data transfer protocols.
  • Perform data analysis and validation to ensure successful system-to-system communication.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and third-party vendors to implement and enhance integrations.
  • Maintain compliance with trading partner requirements, internal SLAs, and industry standards.
  • Participate in deployment and testing of new or modified integrations.

Process Improvement & Documentation 

  • Document integration configurations, mapping specifications, and process flows.
  • Identify recurring issues and work with the team to recommend root-cause solutions and long-term fixes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help streamline integration workflows.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and support documentation.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders regarding issue status and resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal business units and external partners to ensure integration reliability and data accuracy.
  • Escalate complex issues to the Integration Support Lead or development teams when necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in integration support, EDI operations, or application support roles.
  • Strong understanding of EDI (X12, EDIFACT), APIs (REST, SOAP), and file-based integrations (XML, CSV, JSON).
  • Experience with integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, IBM Sterling, Cleo, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based integration tools and message queuing technologies (MQ, Kafka, etc.).
  • ITIL certification or experience with structured incident and problem management.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and troubleshooting.
